OAMARU HOSPITAL.
Oamaru, 13th December, 1871.
SIR,—I have the honor to report that, in terms of the advertisement in the Provincial Government Gazette, a meeting of duly qualified contributors to the Oamaru Hospital was held at the Volunteer Hall this day, for the election of a Committee of Office-bearers for the current year.
Samuel Gibbs, Esq., having been voted to the chair, the following gentlemen were declared duly elected, viz.:

NOTICE.—The South Bridge Road Board hereby notify their intention of applying at the first meeting of the General Road Board for authority to levy a Highway Rate of One Shilling in the Pound on the annual value of property in the district, for the year 1871-72. The Assessment Roll may be inspected for fourteen days from date at my house.—JOHN FLEMING, Clerk to the Board. January 15, 1872.
NORTH EAST HARBOR ROAD BOARD hereby give notice that they intend to apply to the General Road Board at their meeting on the first Thursday of February, for authority to levy a special rate of one shilling per acre on all the front (beach) sections, with the intention of devoting the same to the improvement of the beach road. WEST WAIKIVI LOCAL ROAD BOARD hereby notify their intention of applying at the next meeting of the General Road Board for power to levy a rate of 4d per acre for the current year.
NOTICE.—The Wangaloa Road Board hereby notify their intention of applying at the first meeting of the General Road Board for authority to levy a highway rate of two pence per acre throughout the district for the year 1871-2. The assessment roll may be inspected for fourteen days from date, at my house (Sundays excepted).—ALEX. MITCHELL, Clerk Local Road Board. Wangaloa, Jan. 8, 1872.
CLARENDON ROAD DISTRICT.—The Precept authorising the collection of the Highway Rate for the year ending June, 1872, having been issued by the General Road Board, Ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me, at my house, Lake Waipori, on or before the 9th February, 1872.—R. ANDERSON’S BAY ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice—The Assessment Roll for this district, for the year 1871-72, can be inspected by anyone claiming to be affected thereby, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., on every day not being a Sunday or public holiday, for 14 days from date hereof, at the house of James Samuel, Silverton, Anderson’s Bay. Anderson’s Bay, 15th January, 1872.
NOTICE.—The Ratepayers of the N.E. Harbor and Broad Bay Road Districts are hereby notified that they must pay their respective rates to me, at my residence, on or before Monday, the 12th February next, otherwise legal proceedings will be taken to recover the same.—ROBT. RAYNBIRD, Collector.
PURAKANUI ROAD DISTRICT.—The collection of an Acreage Rate of 6d. per Acre throughout this district having been authorised by the General Road Board, Ratepayers are hereby requested to pay their respective rates to me as early as possible;—JOSEPH MAWSON, Clerk and Collector.
NOTICE.—The North-East Harbor Road Board having resolved to levy on all the front (Beach) Sections a special Rate of One Shilling per acre, to be expended on the Beach road. Intimation is hereby given that the Rate-roll will lie at the Schoolhouse for inspection during fourteen lawful days, dating from Wednesday, the 17th inst.; and that the Commissioners will meet at the Schoolhouse on Saturday, the 3rd of February, at 2 o’clock p.m., to hear and decide on all objections.—GEORGE P. NOTICE.—The Huriri Road Board hereby give notice that the Precept authorising the collection of the Highway Rate for the above named district having been issued by the General Road Board, Ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me at my house, on or before the 1st February, 1872.—ROBERT M’LAY, Collector.
OAMARU POUND.—The Heifer in my last week’s notice, branded r (in circle) off rump, is claimed.—JOHN GRAY, Poundkeeper of Oamaru Pound.
HAMPDEN POUND.—The Bay Mare in the Hampden Pound, and advertised in last Gazette, is branded AJ and not AU, as in Gazette.—H. T. MURCOTT, Poundkeeper.
IMPOUNDED on the 12th day of January, 1872, by William Ferguson: 1 chestnut Mare, apparently a 3-year old filly, blaze on face, invisible brand; 1 bay Horse, white hind feet, brand like J P on near neck; owner unknown; for trespassing on grass paddock, for which 3s 6d per head is claimed; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Inch Clutha, on Friday, the 2nd day of February, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.—F.
