TOMAHAWK Road Board.—Wanted Tenders for making roads and supplying 94 yards of metal in the above District. Specifications to be seen and tenders to be lodged with the undersigned at his residence up to 2 P.M. on Thursday, the 14th inst. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted. The local inspectors, Messrs. Stewart and Harrison, will meet intending contractors on Monday, the 11th, at 1 P.M., at Mr. Sanderson’s gate, Lagoon Flat, to show them the different works.—T. WAREPA ROAD BOARD.—Tenders will be received up to 15th December, 5 p.m., for several contracts for road work. Specifications lie at the Post-office, Warepa.—T. H. MEEKING, Clerk to Warepa Road Board. 22nd November, 1871.

FLAGSTAFF Road Board Contracts.—Extension of Time.—Tenders will be received by the undersigned until noon of Saturday, the 16th December instant, for road formation. Messrs. Jolly and Nicol will point out the works on Friday first, the 8th Dec., at 2 o’clock. Meet on Anderson’s bridge. Plans and specifications to be seen at my office, No. 1 Chambers, Princes street, opposite Government Buildings. The Board does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.—E. R. CAVERSHAM Road Board.—Tenders wanted for forming and metalling the road from St Kilda to Forbury. Specifications will be seen in the hands of Mr David Calder, Forbury. Tenders must be lodged by Monday, the 18th December, with Mr Rutherford, at the office of M’Landress, Hepburn & Co., Manse street, Dunedin. The Board will not be bound to accept the lowest or any tender.—ROBERT JACKSON, Clerk.

COPMANHURST Road Board.—Tenders for work in the above District to be given in on or before December 30th. Contractors will be shown over the work by two members of the Board appointed for that purpose on Wednesday, December 20, at 10 o’clock, at the house of Mr Angus Ross, Langwell.—THOS. HORNE, Clerk.

WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS.

SETTLERS are reminded that by the “Regulations for the Management of Pasturage within Hundreds” every person depasturing or desirous of depasturing cattle on the unfenced waste lands within any Hundred, is required, on or before the 1st of January in every year to furnish to the Waste Land Board a return, showing the number of acres of land owned or occupied by him, the number of acres owned or occupied (if any) unenclosed available to be depastured on by all licensed stock, and the number, description, and brands of all cattle intended to be depastured upon a Hundred.

Penalty for not making a return, or for making a false one, £20.

Forms may be obtained at the Land Offices, Dunedin and Invercargill, and from the Rangers at times and places of which they will give local notice.

NOTICE to APPLICANTS for UNSURVEYED LAND under “Otago Waste Lands Act 1866.”—The Sections in the subjoined Schedule being now surveyed, the applicants are informed that the Waste Land Board will give its decision on their applications at this Office, on Wednesday, the 20th day of December, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon; on or before which day, objections to the survey, if any, must be made. In the event of the application being granted, the purchase money may be made forthwith to the Receiver of Land Revenue, Invercargill.

EDUCATION MEETINGS.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the Annual Statutory Meeting of the Owners and Occupiers of Land and Householders in each Educational District, for the Election of a new School Committee, and for the other purposes specified by Ordinance, will be held upon Monday, the 8th day of January, 1872, at seven o’clock p.m., at the following mentioned places respectively, viz.:

At Dunedin, in the Middle District School-house, between York place and Dowling street.

At Tokomairiro, in the Main District School-house, Milton.

And in the respective School-houses, or buildings used as School-houses, in the following mentioned districts, viz.:—Port Chalmers, Portobello, North East Harbor, Anderson’s Bay, North East Valley, Wakari, Kaikorai, Mornington, Caversham, Green Island, East Taieri, Saddle Hill, North Taieri, Lake Waipori, Waikouaiti, Balclutha, Warepa, Kaihiku, Blueskin, Waikouaiti, Hampden, Waihola Gorge, West Taieri, Maungatua, Clyde, Alexandra, Naseby (Mount Ida), Palmerston, Waitaki, Pleasant River, Arrowtown, Cromwell, Port Molyneux, East Clutha, Waitepeka, Inch Clutha, Kaihiku, Switzers, Invercargill, Long Bush, Wallace Town, Campbelltown, Woodlands, Waianiwa, Flint’s Bush, Roslin, Winton, Gummie’s Bush, One Tree Point, Riverton, and Waikivi.

The householders, in the following mentioned localities respectively, in which Side Schools have been established or authorised, are advised to meet in the School-houses or buildings used as School-houses, of their respective districts on the aforesaid Monday, the 8th day of January, 1872, at 7 o’clock p.m., for the purpose of electing School Committees for the ensuing year, viz.:—Teviot, Moa Flat, Hamilton’s, St. Bathans, Waipori, Blue Spur, Weatherstones, Otokia, Popotunoa, Taieri Beach, Awamoka, Macraes, Hillend, Tapanui, Upper Harbor West, Lower Harbor, Whare Flat, Black’s, Te Houka, Waiwera, Merton, Waireka (Cave Valley), Mimihau (Mataura), Hide, Wangaloa, Lower Shotover, Moeraki, Macetown, Glenore, South Akatore, South Bridge, Cardrona, Kakanui, Sawyer’s Bay, High-
