POPOPOTUNOA ROAD BOARD hereby notifies its intention to apply at the meeting of the General Road Board, in October, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of One Shilling in the Pound on annual value of all lands and houses in the district. The Assessment Roll can be inspected at Popotunoa Station, for fourteen days from this date. September 14, 1871.—MATTHEW PATERSON, Clerk, to Popotunoa Road Board.
THE TE HOUKA LOCAL ROAD BOARD hereby notify their intention to apply at the next sitting of the General Road Board, in October, for authority to levy a Rate of One Shilling in the Pound on all property in the district, for the year ending June, 1872. The Assessment Roll may be inspected at my house for fourteen days from date.—WM. DALLAS, Clerk. September 12, 1871.
HAMPDEN.—The Local Board hereby notifies its intention to apply to the General Road Board, at their next meeting in October, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of One Shilling in the Pound on the annual value of all lands, houses, buildings, &c, in the district, for the year ending June, 1872. CHALGROVE.—The Local Board hereby notifies its intention to apply to the General Road Board, at its meeting in October next, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of One Penny per Acre on all lands in the district for the current year. The revised Assessment Roll may be inspected at the store of Mr. P. F. Stoddart, Hampden, for fourteen days from the 8th inst.—ALEXANDER YOUNG, Clerk, Chalgrove Road Board. CHALFONT.—The Local Board hereby notifies its intention to apply to the General Road Board, at its meeting in October next, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of Fivepence in the Pound on the annual value of all lands, buildings, &c., in the district, for the current year. BLUE MOUNTAIN ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice is hereby given that the General Road Board having issued a Precept authorising the collection of the Highway Rate for the year 1871-72, the collector will call upon the Ratepayers for payment of the amount of their respective Rates. John Keen, clerk and collector, Blue Mountain Local Board. Palmerston, September 9th, 1871.
CAVERSHAM ROAD BOARD.—Authority having been granted by the General Road Board to levy a Rate of one shilling per acre within this district, Notice is hereby given that any person objecting to the amount for which he is assessed must lodge his objection with the General Road Board on or before Wednesday, the 20th inst., and that the Commissioners appointed for that purpose will hear objections at the Schoolroom, Caversham, at 8 o’clock p.m. of said date, where and when the objectors must attend. Caversham, 12th Sept., 1871.

IMPOUNDED on the ninth day of September, 1871, by order of Mr Craig, Punchbowl; one chestnut mare branded like I in circle, near shoulder; one brown draught gelding, indistinct brand near shoulder, white on hind feet, owners unknown, for trespassing on grass paddock, for which thirty shillings per head damage is claimed, and in default of being released, the above mare will be sold at the public pound at Otepopo, on Friday the 29th day of October, 1871, at 12 o’clock, noon.

IMPOUNDED on the 9th day of September, 1871, by Thomas Quill, Kuri Bush, one steer; white and brown; two heifers, one poley, both: white and red. No visible brands on either, owner unknown, for trespassing on his ground, for which two shillings each driving is claimed, and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the public pound at Otakia, on Friday, the 29th of September, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
THE partnership heretofore existing between the undersigned as Blacksmiths, under the name of D. and W. Chalmers, has been dissolved by mutual consent. All debts due to and by the Tokomairiro business will be received and paid by David Chalmers, who continues to carry on the same business. All debts due to and by the Gorge business will be received and paid by William Chalmers, who will henceforth carry on the business.
