NOTICE

Of certain Land in the Town of Hawkslock, in the Province of Otago, having been set apart as an Endowment for the Athenaeum at Hawkslock.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have, under and by virtue of Section 63 of the “Otago Waste Lands Act 1866,” recommended that the “Waste lands hereinafter described should be set apart as an Endowment for an Athenaeum at Hawkslock,” and it is expedient that the said lands should be so reserved for that purpose: Now therefore, I, James Macandrew, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the lands hereinafter described a Reserve for an Endowment for an Athenaeum at Hawkslock; (that is to say):—

All that area in the Province of Otago containing by admeasurement eighty-three (83) acres and four (4) poles, more or less, situate in the town of Balclutha, being sections numbered respectively twelve (12), thirteen (13), fourteen (14), fifteen (15), sixteen (16), seventeen (17), eighteen (18), nineteen (19), and twenty (20) on the map of the said town; bounded towards the north-west by a road-line one thousand four hundred and twenty-seven (1427) links; towards the north by a road-line two thousand three hundred and ninety-two (2392) links; towards the north-east by block numbered I, Hillend district one thousand three hundred and thirty-seven (1337) links; towards the south-east by section numbered 21 one thousand three hundred and twenty (1320) links; and towards the south-west by sections numbered respectively six (6) and nineteen (19) three hundred (300) links.

Dated at Dunedin, this seventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have, under and by virtue of Section 62 of the “Otago Waste Lands Act 1866,” recommended that the lands hereinafter described should be reserved for public purposes for the use of the inhabitants of Balclutha; and it is expedient that the said lands should be so reserved for that purpose: Now therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the lands hereinafter described a Reserve for public purposes, for the use of the Inhabitants of Balclutha; (that is to say):—

All that area in the Province of Otago containing by admeasurement three (3) roods, more or less, being sections numbered respectively three (3), four (4) and five (5), block twenty-seven (XXVII) on the map of the said town: Bounded towards the north-west by Sunderland street two hundred and fifty (250) links; towards the north-east by Pansher street three hundred (300) links; towards the south-east by section numbered two (2), two hundred and fifty (250) links; and towards the south-west by sections numbered respectively six (6) and nineteen (19) three hundred (300) links.

WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have, under and by virtue of Section 62 of the “Otago Waste Lands Act 1866,” recommended that the lands hereinafter described should be reserved for the use of the Inhabitants of Hawksbury; and it is expedient that the said lands should be so reserved for that purpose: Now therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the lands hereinafter described a Reserve for the use of the Inhabitants of Hawksbury; (that is to say):—

All that area in the Province of Otago containing by admeasurement one hundred and ninety-five (195) acres, more or less, situate in the Hawksbury District, and marked Lagoon on the map of the said District; bounded on the north by Glasgow street, two hundred (200) links; towards the east by the township of Hawksbury, eighteen thousand seven hundred (18700) links; towards the south by the reserve of Hawksbury and block numbered six (VI); Hawksbury District, four thousand eight hundred (4800) links; and towards the west by the said block six thousand (VI) of the township of Hawksbury, fourteen thousand (14000) links.

Dated at Dunedin, this seventh day of August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.
