IMPOUNDED
Impounded on the 4th day of May, 1871, by A. F. Kitchen, Esq., Moa Flat Station, one red Cow, branded like three legs of man near rump; one strawberry Bull, point broken off near horn, no visible brand, damages £5; red Cow, cock horns, J M off rump; red Cow, white back, blotched brand like three legs of man off rump; red Steer, two white spots on back, no visible brand; spotted Cow, like J X off rump; brindle and white bull Calf at foot; red Heifer, C near thigh, owners unknown, for trespassing on Moa Flat Station, for which 18s. 6d. each damages are claimed; and, in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound, at Tapanui, on Friday, the 26th day of May, 1871, at twelve o’clock noon.—A. M’Gregor, Poundkeeper of the Glenkenich Pound.

Stolen or strayed from Reserve paddock at Caversham, a dark chestnut Horse, white face down to nose, about 15½ hands high, switch tail, no brand. The above reward will be paid to any one giving information which will lead to a conviction, or return the horse to Mr. Poodie, Plough Inn, Caversham.

WRIT OF FOREIGN ATTACHMENT, No. 6.
Victoria, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, to James Harvey, of Invercargill, in the Province of Otago and Colony of New Zealand, Solicitor, greeting:
WHEREAS an action is now pending in our Supreme Court of New Zealand, at Invercargill aforesaid, between Thomas M’Kellar, of Strathkeller, in the Colony of Victoria, but at present in Invercargill aforesaid, gentleman, plaintiff; and Hugh M’Lean, late of Wallacetown, in the Province of Otago in the Colony of New Zealand aforesaid, but at present in parts out of the said last-named Colony, farmer, defendant; and, in order that the plaintiff may proceed in his action, we command you, and each of you, that you do retain and keep all and singular the lands and hereditaments (especially Sections six and seven of Block number two on the Crown Grant Record map of the New River Hundred, in the Province aforesaid) and the moneys, chattels, bills, bonds, and other property of whatsoever nature in the custody or control of you, or either of you, at the time of the service of this writ belonging to the said Hugh M’Lean, or to you, or either of you, in which the said Hugh M’Lean shall at that time be legally or equitably entitled, or otherwise beneficially interested in, and whether solely or jointly with any other person or persons, and all debts of any kind then due by you, or either of you to the said defendant, although the same or any part thereof, may become due and payable on a future day. And we further command you, that you, and each of you, in your proper persons, be and appear before such Judge of our Supreme Court as shall be sitting in Chambers on Wednesday, the seventeenth day of May next, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, or on such other day as such sitting may be adjourned to, and there to be examined touching the premises, and to do and receive what shall then and there be considered of you in that behalf, and this you shall in nowise omit.
Witness His Honor Henry Samuel Chapman, Judge of our Supreme Court of New Zealand at Invercargill, aforesaid, this seventeenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.
