IMPOUNDED

Oamaru Pound

Sold at the Public Pound at Oamaru on Friday, the twenty-eighth day of April, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.

IMPOUNDED, on the 5th of April, 1871, by Mr. P. M’Eneny, for trespassing on wheat-crop, for which £1 per head damage is claimed:—

  • One chestnut colt with blaze, branded SR off shoulder;
  • One chestnut colt with blaze, branded SB off shoulder;
  • One bay colt, white hind-feet, no visible brand;
  • One chestnut colt, star on forehead, like NH near shoulder;
  • One bay colt, indistinct brand near shoulder;
  • One black colt, near hind-foot white, like JY near shoulder;
  • One bay colt with white face, F3 near shoulder;
  • One chestnut mare with blaze, branded like S2 off shoulder;
  • One dark bay colt, like M near shoulder;
  • One bay mare with white streak on face, no visible brand;
  • One bay filly, star on forehead, hind-feet white, no visible brand;
  • One dark bay or black mare, like S off shoulder.

If the above are not released before Friday, the 28th April, they will be sold to defray expenses.

IMPOUNDED, on the 6th day of April, 1871, by police, one grey gelding, branded like JH on near shoulder, owner unknown, for trespassing on the township; and in default of being released, the above gelding will be sold at the Public Pound at Balclutha on Friday, the 28th day of April, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.

NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the partnership heretofore existing between George Wilson and Daniel Pankhurst, trading as Butchers under the style or firm of Geo. Wilson & Co., has this day been dissolved by mutual consent. The business will be continued by Geo. Wilson alone, who is authorised to receive all debts due to, and will discharge all debts owing by the late firm.

NOTICE

Dunedin and Port Chalmers Railway.

Notice is hereby given that it is intended to introduce a Bill into the Provincial Council of Otago at its next Session, authorising David Proudfoot, of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago and Colony of New Zealand, contractor; Richard Oliver, of Dunedin, aforesaid, ironmonger; and Thomas Birt Ulph, of Dunedin, aforesaid, ironmonger, the promoters of the undertaking, authorised by the “Dunedin and Port Chalmers Railway Lands Compulsory Taking Ordinance 1870,” to take compulsorily, for the purposes of the Railway from Port Chalmers, in the said Province, to the City of Dunedin, in the said Province, authorised by the said Ordinance, and of constructing wharves, jetties, and other necessary erections, for the purpose of enabling ships and vessels to load and discharge their cargoes and land and take in passengers from and to such Railway, the lands or portions of the lands mentioned in the schedule hereunder written: And notice is hereby further given, that a copy of the Bill so intended to be introduced as aforesaid, may be inspected at the office of the Clerk of the said Provincial Council, on and after the twenty-eighth day of April next ensuing, the date hereof.

Harbour Office and Custom House Reserve:
Portion of Town Belt, one chain in width, from high water mark, extending twenty-five chains north-east from section 401.

Portion of Harbour Reserve extending between sections 77 and 401, and continuation thereof for seven chains.

Crossings of Mount street and of Main Road at junction with Wickliffe Terrace.

Part of George street, and continuation of same to and across Harbour Reserve to Jetty.

Portion of Koputai Bay in front of Harbour Reserve from sections 77 to 401, and of Town Belt.

NOTICE

The Partnership hitherto existing between the undersigned James Brugh and Matthew Robertson Miller under the firm of Barata Flax Company, Port Molyneux, have ceased, by mutual consent, to carry on business from this date as flax-dressers. All accounts due to the said firm are to be paid to the said James Brugh, by whom all accounts owing by the said firm will be paid; and all claims against said firm must be sent in on or before 30th instant.

To Mr. R. E. Field, Owner of Section 91, Block 11, Tuapeka East District.

TAKE NOTICE, that I desire that the boundary or separating fence between Section 91, held by you, and Sections 89 and 90, be made immediately, on or before June, 1871; and that such fence shall be according to No. 3, Schedule B, of Fencing Ordinance, 27th May, 1867.
