A meeting of the Owners and Occupiers of land and Householders in the Educational District of Kaitangata will be held in the Schoolhouse, Kaitangata, on Friday, the 5th May, 1871, at 7 o’clock p.m., to elect a School Committee for the current year.

In consequence of no School Committee having been elected for Palmerston District on the 9th January, His Honor the Superintendent has appointed a meeting of the owners and occupiers of land and householders of the said Educational District of Palmerston, to be held in the schoolhouse, Palmerston, on Friday, the 5th of May, 1871, at 7 o’clock p.m., to elect a School Committee for the current year.

SOUTHLAND EDUCATIONAL MEETINGS.
A Meeting of the Owners and Occupiers of Land and Householders, in each of the under-mentioned School Districts, will be held at the time and place hereinafter specified, for the purpose of electing a School Committee for the current year:—
Invercargill—In the late Provincial Council Hall, on Monday 8th May, at 7 o’clock p.m.
Roslyn—In the School-house, on Monday, 8th May, at 1 o’clock p.m.
Waikivi—At the Residence of Mr. Bain, on Tuesday, 9th May, at 1 o’clock p.m.
Wallacetown—In the School-house, on Tuesday, 9th May, at 7 o’clock p.m.
Waianawai—In the School-house on Wednesday, 10th May, at 1 o’clock p.m.
Flint’s Bush (Waimatuku)—In the School-house, Wednesday, 10th May, at 4 o’clock p.m.
South Riverton—In the School-house, on Thursday, 11th May, at 1 o’clock p.m.
Riverton—In the School-house, on Thursday, 11th May, at 7 o’clock p.m.
Gumnie’s Bush—In the School-house, on Friday, 12th May, at 1 o’clock p.m.
Winton—In the School-house, on Monday, 15th May, at 1 o’clock p.m.
One Tree Point—In the School-house, on Tuesday, 16th May, at 1 o’clock p.m.
Morton Mains—At the Residence of Mr. George Walker, Flemington, on Wednesday, 17th May, at 1 o’clock p.m.
Long Bush—In the School-house, on Wednesday, 17th May, at 4 o’clock p.m.
Campbelltown—In the School-house, on Thursday, 18th May, at 1 o’clock p.m.

IMMIGRATION MONEY.—Several parties having neglected to pay Immigration Money as promised, Notice is hereby given that if said sums are not paid forthwith, Legal Proceedings will be adopted to recover the said sums.

ELECTORAL NOTICE.—Port Chalmers District.
The List of all those persons who during the last three months have preferred claims to be placed on the Electoral Roll for the District of Port Chalmers, is now posted for inspection at the Town Hall, Port Chalmers.—WILLIAM REID, Registration Officer.
ELECTION OF LOCAL BOARDS ROAD TRUSTEES.—Ratepayers in the undermentioned Road District having failed to elect a Local Board to serve for the year ending June, 1871. Notice is hereby given, that a meeting is appointed to be held for the purpose of electing five duly qualified persons to serve as a Local Board, as under:—
Awamoa.—Wednesday, 26th April, 1871, at the house of Matthew Holmes, Esq., at 3 o’clock p.m.

WAIHOLA WEST ROAD DISTRICT.—Ratepayers in the above district are requested to pay the amount of their rates to the Collector before the first of May next, otherwise proceedings will be taken for their recovery.—WILLIAM DUFF, Clerk to the Board. April 1st, 1871.
OTANOMOMO Local Road Board hereby intimate their intention of applying at the first meeting of the General Road Board for authority to levy a Highway Rate of 3d. per acre, for the current year in the above district.
The Assessment Roll is open for inspection at the house of Mr. W. Telford for fourteen days from date, Sundays excepted.—WYNTER BLATHWAYT, Clerk to Local Road Board. April 6th, 1871.
NOTICE.—Those Ratepayers in the Beaconsfield Road District that have not paid their road rates are requested to do so before the 20th inst. Legal proceedings will be taken to recover all rates not paid on or before the above date.—THOS. PRYDE, Clerk and Collector. Beaconsfield, April 3, 1871.
IMPOUNDED, on the 23rd day of March, 1871, by William Palmer, of Otakia, one red-and-white yearling Steer, no visible brands, owner unknown, for trespassing on enclosed ground, for which no damages are claimed; and in default of being released, the above steer will be sold at the Public Pound at Otakia on Friday, the 21st day of April, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—SAMUEL O’KANE, Poundkeeper of the Otakia Pound.
IMPOUNDED on the 2nd day of April, 1871, by the police, one white steer, branded like JT near rump, owner unknown, for trespassing on the streets of Oamaru, for which one shilling driving-in expenses is claimed; and in default of being released, the above steer will be sold at the Public Pound at Oamaru on Friday, the twenty-eighth day of April, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—JOHN GRAY, Poundkeeper of the Oamaru Pound.
IMPOUNDED, on the 4th day of April, 1871, by order of Matthew Holmes, Esq., Awamoa, one bay mare, small star on forehead, branded like WC conjoined near shoulder, like DB under saddle near back, owner unknown, for trespassing on fenced land on Awamoa, for which five shillings damage is claimed; and in default of being released, the above mare will be
