WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the following allotment of Rural Land will be offered for sale by public auction, on Tuesday, the 19th May next, in the Land Office, at noon, under the 35th clause of the "Otago Waste Land Act 1866," at the upset price of 10s. per acre.

BUSH RESERVES.—Sealed offers will be received at this office until noon of Monday 23rd May, for leasing for a term of 21 years from the 1st June, 1870, the undermentioned Bush Reserves, under certain conditions as to planting &c., which may be seen on and after the 1st May at the Police Stations at West Taieri, Balclutha, Port Molyneux, Waikouaiti, Tokomairiro and Hampden, and at the Land Office, Dunedin.
The offers are to be made by filling in the printed form of Tender, (which can be obtained at the place abovementioned), the prices at which the different descriptions of timber in the bush are to be supplied to the public, and are to be enclosed in an envelope marked "Offer for Lease of Bush Reserves," addressed to the Chief Commissioner of the Waste Land Board, Dunedin.
The person whose tender may be accepted will require to name two sureties to the satisfaction of the Waste Land Board, who will enter into a bond in the sum of £50 for the due fulfilment of the conditions of the lease.
The lowest or any offer not necessarily accepted.

THE RESERVE having been withdrawn from section 2, block V, Lawrence—Notice is hereby given that the said section will be offered for sale by public auction by Mr. J. M. Nicolson, at the Court House, Lawrence, on Monday, the 6th day of June next, at noon, at the upset price of £2, and subject to a valuation (to be stated at time of sale) for improvements effected thereon.

NOTICE to Payers of Road Rates in Maungatua District.—It is the intention of the Commissioner for the District to apply for authority to levy a rate of one Shilling in the Pound sterling annual value.
The rate roll shall be lying for inspection at Maungatua School-house from this date until 7th May noon.

Chapman, Maitland and Sanders, Maniototo Plains: 1 red and white bullock, branded like shamrock leaf on near rump, coupling chain on neck, 4 near rib; 1 red and white bullock, branded like shamrock leaf near rump, and like S on loin; 1 roan bullock, branded like shamrock leaf near rump; 1 red and white bullock, branded like Y (in circle) on off rump; 1 red and white steer, branded on near rump, near ear split; owners unknown; for trespassing on the runs of Messrs. Chapman, Maitland, and Sanders, Maniototo Plains, for which 15s. each damage are claimed, and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Hawksbury, on Friday, the 20th day of May, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.
