NOTICE

Of certain Land in the Province of Otago having been
reserved to form a portion of the Site of a Dock
at Oamaru.

By His Honor Captain Thomas Fraser, Deputy-Super-
intendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have
under and by virtue of Section 62 of the
"Otago Waste Lands Act 1866" recommended that
the lands hereinafter described should be reserved as a
portion of the site for a Dock at Oamaru; and it is
expedient that the said lands should be so reserved for
that purpose: Now therefore, I, Thomas Fraser,
Deputy-Superintendent of the Province, [of] Otago,
hereby in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority vested in me in this behalf, do publish
and declare that I have made and dedicated the lands
hereinafter described a Reserve for a portion of the
site for a Dock at Oamaru, henceforth to be know
as the "Oamaru Dock Reserve;" (that is to say)—

All that area situate in the Province of Otago, con-
taining by admeasurement two (2) acres and thirty
(30) poles, more or less, situate in the town of Oamaru :
Bounded towards the north-west by Tyne street, one
hundred and seventy (170) links, also by Reserve for
Public Esplanade, six hundred (600) links; towards
the north-east by the Lagoon, eight hundred (800)
links; towards the south-east by Crown Lands, seven
hundred and seventy (770) links; and towards the
south-west by Crown Lands and Lagoon Stream, two
hundred (200) links, also by Reserve for Public Es-
planade, five hundred (500) links.

PUBLIC NOTICE under Section 6 of the Otago
Gold Fields Rules and Regulations.

Sufficient proof having been shown to me that that
portion of the Otago Gold Fields, described in the
Schedule hereto annexed, has been fairly tested and is
either wholly or for the greater part of an inferior
character as regards the value of its gold deposits: I
hereby give notice that the same may be occupied by
holders of miners rights in claims of the undermentioned
size, provided that no block claim shall exceed more
than six acres altogether.

creek; 510 x 255 feet.

29th March, 1869.
Two acres, situate on the south bank of Kawarau
river, one mile east of Deep creek; 295 x 295 feet.

Three acres, situate near the Italian's claim, just
below it, and running into the terrace on the east side
of Cardrona creek; 510 x 255 feet.

3rd May, 1869.
Three acres of ground, situate on Charley Barr's
terrace, between Barr's gully and Fisher's gully, facing
Arrow river; 361 x 361 feet.

3rd May, 1869.
Three acres of ground, situate on Italian terrace,
Arrow river, measuring 361 x 361 feet.

3rd May, 1869.
Four acres of ground, situate on a terrace known as
the Great Extended, Bracken's gully, measuring 600
x 295 feet.

3rd May, 1869.
Four acres, situate German Hut, between Sawyer's
gully and Swiper's gully, measuring 596 x 295 feet.

1st March, 1869.
Four acres of ground, situate on the north-east side
of Swiper's gully, Arrow; commencing about three
hundred yards from junction of creek with the Arrow
river, measuring 590 x 295 feet.

15th March, 1869.
Three acres of ground, situate on Gentle Annie creek,
adjoining Cameron's claim, on the west side; 510 x 550
feet.

1st March, 1869.
Two acres of ground, situate on German terrace,
south side of Twelvemile creek, Arrow river, adjoining
Beat's claim; 418 x 209 feet.

1st March, 1869.
Two acres of ground, situate in Golden gully, Twelve
Mile, opposite Corbitt's, at the back of M'Kingle's
Hut, measuring 295 x 295 feet.

1st March, 1869.
Three acres of ground, situate at the head of Alex.
Cameron's tail race, which race commences at the
gorge in Gentle Annie creek and terminates half a mile
up said creek; 510 x 255 feet.

5th April, 1869.
Two acres of ground, 295 x 295, situate Shellback
hill, eight Mile, Arrow river.

26th April, 1869.
Two acres of ground, situate New Chum gully,
Arrow river, 418 x 209 feet.

23rd March, 1869.
Two acres, situate in the south bank of Kawarau
river, Arrow and Kawarau river junction; 295 x 295
feet.

3rd May, 1869.
One acre, situate near Barber's gully, 12-Mile Arrow,
on terrace west bank of Arrow river, 294 x 147 feet.

TENDERS, will be received at the Office of Secretary
for Land and Works, until noon of Friday, June
25th, for
Contract No. 397—Supply of 600 cubic yards of
spalds on the Reclaimed ground, near Bell Hill.
Specification may be seen, and forms of tender ob-
tained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and
Works, Dunedin.
Tenders to be indorsed "Roads and Works, Tender
for Contract No. 397."
The Government does not undertake to accept the
lowest or any tender.
