which should be named as specified in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed, marked B: And it is also by the said Ordinance provided that it should be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, from time to time, by Proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such districts, and to increase the number of districts by forming and naming new districts.

And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of the Tuaikito Road District, as proclaimed in the Provincial Government Gazette, No. 514, on the 18th day of December, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven: Now therefore, I, James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Tuaikito Road District, as proclaimed in the said Gazette, No. 514, on the 18th day of December, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven, shall be altered, and that the area bounded as hereinafter described shall, from the day of the date hereof, be the Road District of Tuaikito (that is to say):—

All that area commencing at the Trig. Station, Mount Misery, and bounded on the north by a direct line to the north-east angle of Section 25, Block II, Kaitangata Survey District; thence by Section 24 and by a straight line from south-west angle of said Section 24, through Trig. Station H to north-east angle of Section 8, Block IV, North Tuaikito; thence by Section 16, Block XXXVIII, Tokomairiro, and Sections 1, 2, and 3, Block X, North Tuaikito to Main South Road; thence by the Main South Road to Lovell’s Creek, thence on the west by Lovell’s Creek, Tuaikito and Kaitangata Lakes to north-west angle of Section 3, Block I, South Tuaikito; thence on the north by Section 4, Block I, North Tuaikito; thence on the east by a road line to north-west angle of Section 12, Block IX, Kaitangata Survey District; thence on the south by Sections 12 and 11, said Block IX; thence on the east by centre of road line between Section 2 and portion of Section 3, said Block IX and said centre of road line continued to its junction with district road at Section 26, Block V, said Kaitangata Survey District; thence again on the south by centre line of said road to south-east angle of said Section 26; thence again on the east by centre of road line continued to Trig. Station, Mount Misery, the point of commencement.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Applications made by William Trevethan, on behalf of the Prince Alfred Alluvial Gold Mining Company, for 5 acres of land on the Race Course Terrace, Maori Point; and Henry Edgar, on behalf of the Sand Hills Sluicing Company, for 10 acres of land on Sand Hill, Upper Shotover, for gold mining purposes, have been withdrawn, and that said land is open for occupation by holders of miners’ rights.

NOTICE is hereby given that the said John Murdoch was this day adjudged a bankrupt on his own petition, and that Saturday, the twenty-first day of November instant, at ten o’clock in the forenoon, at the Supreme Court House, Dunedin, is appointed as the time and place for the first meeting of creditors of the said bankrupt, and where and when the bankrupt is to surrender.
