PROCLAMATION.
Road District of Wangaloa altered.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled the "Otago Roads Ordinance 1865," it is amongst other things enacted that, until otherwise provided, pursuant to the provisions of the said Ordinance, there should be sixty-one districts, which should be named as specified in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed marked B: And it is also by the said Ordinance provided that it should be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, from time to time, by proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such districts, and to increase the number of such districts by forming and naming new districts:
And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of the Road District of Wangaloa as proclaimed in the Provincial Government Gazette, 510, on the twentieth day of November, 1867:
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Road District of Wangaloa, as proclaimed in the said Gazette, No. 510, on the said twentieth day of November, 1867, shall be altered, and that the area bounded as herein described shall, from the day of the date hereof, be the Wangaloa District (that is to say):
All that area commencing at the mouth of the Matau River, and bounded on the west by said river and Kaitangata Creek to the north-west angle of Section 3, Block I, South Tuakitato Survey District; thence on the north by a boundary line between Sections 3 and 4, said Block I; thence on the west by a road line to north-west angle of Section 12, Block IX, Kaitangata Survey District; thence on the north by Sections 1 and 2, said Block IX; thence again on the west by the centre of the road line between portion of Section 3 and Section 2, said Block IX, and continued by said centre of said road line to its junction with district road at Section 26, Block V, said Kaitangata Survey District; thence on the north by centre of road line bounding said Section 26; thence again on the west by centre of road line to the north-west angle of Section 17, Block VI, said Kaitangata Survey District; thence on the north by Blocks III and IV, said Kaitangata Survey District; thence on the east by Section 1, Block XIV, Coast District, to the Ocean, and on the south by the Ocean to the point of commencement.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, this seventeenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
