PROCLAMATION
By His Honor JAMES MACANDREW, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled the "Otago Roads Ordinance 1865," it is amongst other things enacted that, until otherwise provided, pursuant to the provisions of the said Ordinance, there should be sixty-one districts, which should be named as specified in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed, marked B: And it is also by the said Ordinance provided that it should be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, from time to time, by Proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such districts, and to increase the number of districts by forming and naming new districts:
And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of the Road District of Cranbourne as proclaimed in the Provincial Government Gazette, No. 492, on the twenty-fourth day of July, 1867:
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Road District of Cranbourne, as proclaimed in the said Gazette, No. 492, on the said twenty-fourth day of July, 1867, shall be altered, and that the area bounded as hereinafter described shall, from the day of the date hereof, be the Cranbourne Road District (that is to say):
All that area commencing at the north-east angle of Section 43, Block II, Hawksbury Survey District, and bounded on the north by Sections 37, 38, and 39, Block II, and Sections 45, 44, 43, 42, 41, 40, 39, 38, 37, 36, and portion of 35, Block III; on the west by Section 25, said Block III; thence on the south by Sections 43 and 44, Block V, and by bush reserve to township of Hawksbury; on the south-east by part of Township of Hawksbury, by part of Section 1, Block VI, Hawksbury Survey District, by an old road line to Section 49, Block IV, Sections 49, 48, 47, 46, and 45, said Block IV; by Pleasant River to the northern boundary of said Block IV; thence by said northern boundary to Main North Road; thence on the east by the Main North Road to north-east angle of Section 43, Block II, said Hawksbury Survey District, the point of commencement.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, this tenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

Road District of Enfield altered.

Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Enfield Road District, as proclaimed in the said Gazette, No. 429, on the said eleventh day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven, shall be altered, and that the area bounded as hereinafter described shall, from the day of the date hereof, be the Road District of Enfield (that is to say):
All that area bounded on the north by the northern boundary of Block XVI and XV, Oamaru Survey District, and Block III, Kauroo Survey District; thence on the west by western boundary of said Block III; thence on the south by the northern boundary of Block II, Kauroo Survey District to the Kakanui River; thence by the said Kakanui River to the western boundary of Block XIV, said Oamaru Survey District; thence on the west, following said boundary line to the Kauroo River; thence following said Kauroo River to the southern boundary of Block XI, Oamaru Survey District; thence on the south by said southern boundary to the Waireka Creek, to the eastern boundary of said Block XVI, Oamaru Survey District; thence by the said eastern boundary to northern boundary of said Block XVI.

In conformity with the 29th section of "The Gold Fields Act 1866," it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a Lease for Gold Mining purposes of Crown Lands to the undermentioned:

for eight acres of land at Clark’s Diggings, Mt. Buster District.

PUBLIC NOTICE
Under Section 1, Regulation VI, of the Otago Gold Fields Rules and Regulations.
Sufficient Proof having been shown to me that that portion of the Otago Gold Fields described in the Schedule hereunto annexed has been fairly tested, and is either wholly or for the greater part of an inferior character as regards its gold deposits, I hereby give notice that the same may be occupied by holders of miners’ rights in claims of the under-mentioned size, namely: One acre for each holder of a miner’s right, provided that no block claim shall comprise more than six acres altogether.

SCHEDULE
That portion of the Otago Gold Fields bounded on the north and south by a quarter of a mile from the centre of Butcher’s Gully, on the west at a point immediately behind Napier’s Store at Butcher’s Gully, and on the east by the dam belonging to the Imperial Water Race Company.
