PROCLAMATION.
Road District of Goodwood altered.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” it is amongst other things enacted that, until otherwise provided, pursuant to the provisions of the said Ordinance, there should be sixty-one Districts, which should be named as specified in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed marked B: And it is also by the said Ordinance provided that it should be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, from time to time, by proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such districts, and to increase the number of such districts by forming and naming new districts:
And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of the Road District of Goodwood as proclaimed in the Provincial Government Gazette, No. 446, on the twenty-fourth day of October, 1866:
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Road District of Goodwood, as proclaimed in the said Gazette, No. 446, on the said twenty-fourth day of October, 1866, shall be altered, and that the area bounded as hereinafter described shall, from the day of the date hereof, be the Goodwood District (that is to say):—
All that area bounded on the north by Sections 47, 46, 45, 56, and 35, Block III, Moeraki Survey District; by Sections 67, 66, 65, Block IV, said Moeraki Survey District, and by portion of Block X, said Moeraki Survey District; on the west by Sections 10 and 16, Block II, Hawksbury Survey District; and on the south by Sections 1, 2, and 3, Block I, said Hawksbury Survey District. Again on the west by Section 5, said Block I, Hawksbury Survey District, and by a direct line from southern angle of Section 5 to north-east angle of Section 38, said Block I, Hawksbury Survey District; thence by Bush Reserve and Section 33, Block II, said Hawksbury Survey District; by Main North Road to northern boundary of Block IV, said Hawksbury Survey District; thence on the south by said northern boundary to Pleasant River; thence by said Pleasant River to the Ocean; thence on the east by the Ocean to the north-east angle of Section 50, Block III, said Moeraki Survey District.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago this tenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
