Province of Otago, intituled the "Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865," it is amongst other things enacted, that
until otherwise provided, pursuant to the provisions of
the said Ordinance, there should be sixty-one Districts,
which should be named as specified in the Schedule to
the said Ordinance annexed, marked B: And it is also
by the said Ordinance provided that it should be lawful
for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of
the Otago General Road Board, from time to time, by
Proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish, or
enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such Districts:
and whereas it is expedient to alter and enlarge the
boundaries of the Cranbourne Road District, and to alter
and diminish the boundaries of the Montroyal Road
District, in manner and as described in Schedule hereto:
Now therefore, I, Thomas Fraser, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the
said Province, with the advice and consent of
the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the boundaries of the said Cranbourne
Road District shall, from the day of the date hereof,
be altered and enlarged, and that the boundaries of the
Montroyal Road District shall from such day and date
be altered and diminished, and that the boundaries of
the Cranbourne and Montroyal Road Districts shall
henceforth be as described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
Cranbourne Road District shall comprise all that area
within the described boundaries and commencing at the
N. E. angle of sec. 43, block 2, Hawksbury Survey
District, and bounded on the north by sections 37, 38,
39, block 2; sections 45, 44, 43, 42, 41, 40, 39, 38,
37, 36, and portion of 35, block 3; on the west, by
section 25, block 3; thence on the south by sections
43 and 44, block 5; west and south-west by sections
44, 45, and 47, block 5, and by bush reserve to Township of Hawksbury; S. and E. by part of Township of
Hawksbury, section 1, block 6, Hawksbury, by an old
road-line to section 49, block 4, sections 49, 48, 47, 46,
and 45, said block 4; by Pleasant River to the Main
North Road, and thence by the Main North Road to
the N.E. angle of section 43, block 2, the point of
commencement.
Montroyal Road District shall comprise all that area
bounded on the north by block 10, Moeraki Survey
District and the township of Palmerston; west by block
7, and part of block 3, Hawksbury Survey District;
south, by sections 40, 41, 42, and 43, block 2, said
Survey District; east, by Main North Road; south-east
by sections 38, 6, 43, and part of 42, block 1, said
Survey District; and north by section 4, block 1, said
Survey District, and by sections 61, 62, and 63,
block 4, Moeraki Survey District.

(L.S.) Otago, this twenty-third day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.

PROCLAMATION.
Boundaries of Broad Bay Road District altered and
extended, and Portobello Road District altered and
diminished.
By His Honor Thomas Fraser, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and the Provincial Council of the
Province of Otago, intituled the "Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865," it is amongst other things enacted, that
until otherwise provided, pursuant to the provisions of
the said Ordinance, there should be sixty-one Districts,
which should be named as specified in the Schedule to
the said Ordinance annexed, marked B: And it is also
by the said Ordinance provided that it should be lawful
for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of
the Otago General Road Board, from time to time, by
Proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish, or
enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such Districts:

boundaries of the Portobello Road District in manner and
as described in Schedule hereto; Now therefore, I,
Thomas Fraser, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the
said Province, with the advice and consent of the Otago
General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the boundaries of the said Portobello Road District
shall, from the day and date hereof, be altered and
diminished, and that the boundaries of the Broad Bay
Road District shall, from the day of the date hereof,
be altered and enlarged as described in the Schedule
hereto.
SCHEDULE.
Broad Bay Road District shall comprise all that area
within the following boundaries commencing at the
south-west angle of Section 4, Upper Harbor East
Survey District, and bounded on the south and south-west by the North and North-Eastern boundary line of
the North-East Harbor Road District; on the south
by the Northern boundary of Block III, Otago Peninsula to Hooper’s Inlet; thence on the east by the said
Hooper’s Inlet and by sections 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23,
25, 27, and part of 29, Portobello Survey District, 4,
3, 2, and 1, Block V, to Otago Harbor; thence on the
north-west by said Otago Harbor to starting point.
Portobello Road District shall comprise all that area
bounded on the north-west and north by Otago Harbor,
on the east by the Native Reserve, on the south by the
Ocean to Hooper’s Inlet; thence by the Western
Coast line of Hooper’s Inlet to the boundary line
between Sections 14 and 13, Block V, Portobello Bay
Survey District; thence on the south and west by
Section 13, said Block V, and by Sections 30, 29, 28,
27, 26, 25, 24, and 23, Block II, Otago Peninsula, and
by Sections 35, 36, and 37, Block VII, Portobello Bay
Survey District to Otago Harbour.
