PROCLAMATION.
Road District of Glenavon formed, and the boundaries of the Milburn Road District altered and diminished.
By His Honor Thomas Fraser, Esquire, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled the "Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865," it is, amongst other things, enacted that, until otherwise provided, pursuant to the provisions of the said Ordinance, there should be sixty-one districts, which should be named as specified in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed, marked B. And it is also by the said Ordinance provided, that it should be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, from time to time, by proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such districts, and to increase the number of districts by forming and naming new districts.
And whereas it is expedient to form a new Road District, to be named the Glenavon Road District, and to alter and diminish the boundaries of the Milburn Road District.
Now therefore, I, Thomas Fraser, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area bounded as described in the Schedule A hereto shall, from the day of the date hereof, be constituted a Road District, and shall be named the "Glenavon Road District;" and that the area bounded as described in Schedule B hereto shall, from the day of the date hereof, be constituted the Milburn Road District.
SCHEDULE A.
Glenavon Road District shall comprise all that area commencing at the N.W. angle of Section 19, Block 3, Clarendon, and bounded on the North by Sections 2 of 18, 4, 3, and 1, Block 3, Clarendon, Sections 20 and 16, Block 2; East by Sections 11 and 12, Block 2; and North by Blocks 2 and 4, Clarendon; and East by Block 6, Clarendon; South by a line drawn from Trig. Station F to Trig. Station I, and Sections 20, 19, 18, 17, and 24, Block 2, Akatore, and Section 73 Tokomairiro; and on the North-west by Sections 6, 5, 4, Tokomairiro; thence by the continuation of the boundary line between sections 3 and 4, Tokomairiro Survey District to Main South Road, thence again on the North-west by the Main South Road to starting point.
SCHEDULE B.
Milburn Road District shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by the northern boundary of Block I., Table Hill Survey District; on the west by the north branch of the Tokomairiro River to Section 2, Block II., Table Hill Survey District; on the south-west by Sections 10 and 13, Block I, Sections 39, 46, 51, 58, 63, 70, 76, and 80, Tokomairiro Survey District, Sections 9 and 4, and a direct line through Sections 1 and 3 to south-west angle of Section 3, Block II, Akatore Survey District; thence on the south and east by southern and eastern boundary of said Block II. to the northern boundary of said Block; thence by said northern boundary to the eastern boundary of the Glenavon Road District; thence on the west and north by the said Glenavon Road District to the Main South Road.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of (L.S.) Otago, this twenty-third day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.
