ABSTRACT FROM ADVERTISEMENT SHEETS

13th August (Monday) noon, tenders due for constructing 72 chains and 40 links Road, Waikouaiti to Palmerston.

15th August (Wednesday), noon, Tenders for Clutha Bridge due.

17th August, (Friday), noon, a Bay Mare will be sold at East Taieri Pound.

17th August, (Friday), noon, a White Cow will be sold at Tokomairiro Pound.

21st August (Tuesday), at noon, sections 37, 38, 39, and 42, Block II, Moeraki, formerly Dipping Reserve, will be offered for sale by public auction at the Land Office, Dunedin.

24th August (Friday), noon, two Cows to be sold at West Taieri Pound.

27th August (Monday), noon, tenders due for erecting Wire Bridge over Mataura.

£500 will be paid for conviction of the person who set fire to Stacks, on 9th or 10th May last.

TIME EXTENDED.

CLUTHA BRIDGE.—Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works, until noon of Wednesday, 15th of August, for Contract No. 199, Erection of Bridge over the Clutha River at Balclutha.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at Battrick's Hotel, Balclutha, and on after the 9th instant.

Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works—Tender for Contract No. 199."

Two and a half per cent. will require to be deposited with the tender, and no further deposit in this case will afterwards be required.

The Government does not undertake the lowest or any tender.

WAIKOUAITI TO PALMERSTON.—Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works until noon of Monday, the 13th of August, for Contract No. 202, Construction of about 72 chains and 40 links of Road "Waikouaiti to Palmerston, through portion of Block 2, Hawksbury."

Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of Tender obtained at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works—Tender for No. 202."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any Tender.

BRIDGES.—Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works until noon of Monday, the 27th of August, for Contract No. 203, Erection of Wire Suspension Bridge over the Mataura, near the Kanna Kanna Falls.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of Tender obtained at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works—Tender for Contract No. 203."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

MORNINGTON ROAD BOARD.—Tenders wanted for the formation of about 28 chains of Road in the District of Mornington.

Plans and specifications may be inspected on and after the 5th inst., at the Offices of T. Paterson, C.E., Princes-street, North.

Addressed Tenders will be received by the undersigned, up till noon of Thursday, the 9th inst.

The Board do not bind themselves to accept the lowest or any of the Tenders.

PUBLICANS' LICENSES.—Quarterly Meetings under the "Licensing Ordinance, 1865."—Notice is hereby given, that a Meeting of Justices will be held in the Resident Magistrate's Court House adjoining the Supreme Court House, Dunedin, and also at the Resident Magistrate's Court House, at each of the following places, viz:—Port Chalmers, Clyde, Queenstown, Oamaru, Waikouaiti, Taieri, Tokomairiro, Clutha, Hamilton, and Lawrence, at noon, on Tuesday the 4th day of September, 1866, for the purpose of taking into consideration all applications for General, General Night, and Bottle Licenses, and for the transfer, renewal, or removal of such Licenses, of which due notice shall have been given to the Clerk of the said Resident Magistrate's Courts respectively, as directed by the said Ordinance, at which time and place all persons having business thereat are required to give their attendance.
