PROCLAMATION
Road District of Harlington formed.
By His Honor Thomas Dick, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” it is amongst other things enacted in the fifth section thereof—That for the purposes of the said Ordinance, so much of the said Province as is subject to the provisions of the said Ordinance may from time to time be divided into districts until otherwise provided, pursuant to the provisions of the now reciting Ordinance, there should be sixty-one districts, which should be named as specified in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed, marked B: And it is also by the said fifth section provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, from time to time, by Proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such districts, and to increase the number of districts by forming and naming new districts, or by dividing any district into two or more districts:
And whereas it is deemed advisable to alter the boundaries of the Tuakitoto and Southbridge Districts, which are specified in the said Schedule B to the said Ordinance in the manner and as described in the Schedule hereto; Now therefore I, Thomas Dick, Superintendent of the said Province, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the said Tuakitoto and Southbridge Districts shall from the day and date hereof be altered, and that the boundaries of the said districts respectively shall henceforth be as described in the Schedule hereto.

Of the Alterations of the Boundaries of the Southbridge and Tuakitoto Road Districts.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” it is amongst other things enacted in the fifth Section thereof—That for the purposes of the said Ordinance so much of the said Province as is subject to the provisions of the said Ordinance may from time to time be divided into districts until otherwise provided, pursuant to the provisions of the now reciting Ordinance, there should be sixty-one districts which should be named as specified in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed, marked B: And it is also by the said fifth Section provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the General Road Board, from time to time, by proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such districts, and to increase the number of districts by forming and naming new districts, or by dividing any district into two or more districts:
And whereas it is expedient to form a new Road District, to be named the Harlington Road District.
Now therefore I, Thomas Dick, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area bounded as hereinafter described shall from the day of the date hereof be constituted a Road District, and shall henceforth be named the Harlington Road District.
The Harlington Road District shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by portion of block I, North Harbor and Blueskin; east by block VI, North Harbor and Blueskin; south by the Main Road to Port Chalmers; and on the west by the Main North Road.

Schedules
THE SOUTHBRIDGE ROAD DISTRICT
Shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by section 33, block I, Kaitangata Survey District, section 12, block XXXVIII, sections 2, 3, and 8, block XXX, Tokomairiro Survey District, and the south branch of the Tokomairiro River; on the west by the Main South Road; on the south by section 8, block VI, section 8, block V, section 8, block IV; thence by a straight line through sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, to Trig. Station H in section 22, block II, Kaitangata; on the south-east by section 25, block II, Kaitangata, and a straight line from the north-east angle of section 25, block II, Kaitangata, to Mount Misery, thence from Mount Misery on the east by a road line to south-east corner of section 33, block I, Kaitangata Survey District.
THE TUAKITOTO ROAD DISTRICT
Shall comprise all that area bounded on the north-east by a direct line from Mount Misery to the north-east angle of section 25, block II, Kaitangata, thence by section 24, block II, Kaitangata to Trig. Station H, thence by a straight line from Trig. Station H through sections 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 to the north-east angle of section 8, block IV, North Tuakitoto, thence by section 16, block XXXVIII, Tokomairiro, and sections 1, 2, 3, and 4, block X, North Tuakitoto, to the Main South Road; on the north by the Southern Trunk Road; on the west by Lovel’s Creek and Tuakitoto Lake; on the south by block III, South Tuakitoto, from thence in a straight line over Two Stone Hill to Trig. Station J; on the east by road line from said Trig. Station J to Mount Misery.
