PROCLAMATION
Closing Roads in the Puerua District.
By His Honor Thomas Dick, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
I, THOMAS DICK, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me in this behalf, by the “Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1865,” proclaim and declare that all those Roads and all those portions of Roads situate and being in the Puerua District, in the Province of Otago, mentioned and referred to in the said “Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1865,” and which are particularly described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from and after the day of the date hereof, cease to be Public Roads or Thoroughfares, and shall no longer form part of the Roads in the Puerua District.
Description of Roads and portions of Roads in the Puerua District declared Closed.
1.—Twenty-six (26) chains in length, sixty (60) links wide, from Puerua River, on section eight (8), block twenty (20), to District Road on section four (4), block twenty (20), Clutha Survey District; boundaries—east, section six (6) and part of sections four (4) and eight (8), block twenty (20); west, section five (5) and part of sections three (3) and seven (7), block twenty-five (25), Clutha Survey District.
2.—Thirty-one (31) chains in length, sixty (60) links wide, from District Road on section four (4), block twenty (20), to District Road on section twelve (12), block nineteen (19), Clutha Survey District; boundaries—east, section two (2) and part of section four (4), block twenty (20), and part of section twelve (12), block nineteen (19); west, section one (1) and part of section three (3), block twenty-five (25), and part of section eleven (11), block twenty-four (24), Clutha Survey District.
3.—Twenty-two (22) chains in length, sixty (60) links wide, from District Road on section twelve (12), block nineteen (19), to District Road on section eight (8), block nineteen (19), Clutha Survey District; boundaries—east, section ten (10) and part of sections eight (8) and twelve (12), block nineteen (19); west, section nine (9) and part of sections seven (7) and eleven (11), block twenty-four (24), Clutha Survey District.
4.—Forty-one (41) chains in length, sixty (60) links wide, from Road between blocks twenty (20) and sixteen (16), Clutha Survey District, to District Road on section two (2), block twenty (20), Clutha Survey District; boundaries—north, section one (1) and part of section two (2), block twenty (20); south, section eleven (11) and part of section twelve (12), block nineteen (19), Clutha Survey District.
5.—Thirty-four (34) chains in length, sixty (60) links wide, from District Road on section two (2), block twenty (20), to District Road on section one (1), block twenty-five (25), Clutha Survey District; boundaries—north, part of section two (2), block twenty (20), part of section one (1), block twenty-five (25); south, part of section twelve (12), block nineteen (19), and part of section eleven (11), block twenty-four (24), Clutha Survey District.
6.—Seventy (70) chains in length, sixty (60) links wide, from District Road between blocks fifteen (15) and nineteen (19), to District Road between blocks ten (10) and fifteen (15); boundaries—north, block fifteen (15); south, block fourteen (14), Clutha Survey District.
7.—Fifty-eight (58) chains in length, sixty (60) links wide, from Trunk Road on section twelve (12), block twenty-three (23), Clutha Survey District, to road line between blocks twenty-three (23) and eighteen (18); boundaries—north, section one (1) and part of section two (2), block twenty-four (24); south, section eleven (11) and part of section twelve (12), block twenty-three (23), Clutha Survey District.
8.—Six (6) chains in length, sixty (60) links wide, from District Road on section six (6), block twenty-eight (28), Clutha Survey District to District Road on section seventeen (17), block one (1), Warepa; boundaries—east, part of section six (6), block twenty-eight (28), Clutha Survey District; west, part of section seventeen (17), block one (1), Warepa.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this sixth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

PROCLAMATION.
Abbotsford District diminished, and Mossgiel and Wingatui Districts formed.
By His Honor Thomas Dick, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” it is amongst other things enacted in the fifth Section thereof, that for the purposes of the said Ordinance, so much of the said Province as is subject to the provisions of the said Ordinance may, from time to time, be divided into Districts, and until otherwise provided, pursuant to the provisions of this now reciting Ordinance, there should be sixty-one Districts, which should be named as specified in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed, marked B: And it is also by the said fifth Section of the said Ordinance provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, from time to time, by Proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such Districts, and to increase the number of Districts by forming and naming new Districts, or by dividing any District into two or more Districts, and that when any Road District should be divided into two or more Districts, the powers and functions of the Local Board for such divided District should wholly cease on the election of a Local Board for each and all of the Districts formed out of the Districts so divided, in manner in the said Ordinance provided for the election of Local Boards: And whereas it is expedient to alter and diminish the boundaries of the Abbotsford District, as specified in Schedule B to the said Ordinance, and to form two new Districts, to be called respectively the Mossgiel and the Wingatui Districts: Now therefore, I Thomas Dick, Superintendent of the said Province, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said Abbotsford Road District, as specified in the said schedule B of the said Ordinance, shall, from the day of the date hereof, be subdivided, and that the boundaries thereof shall henceforth be as described in the schedule hereto: And with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, I do further proclaim and declare that two new Districts shall be formed, and that the names thereof shall be the Mossgiel District and the Wingatui District respectively, and that henceforth the boundaries of the said Districts respectively shall be as described in the schedule hereto.
Schedule.
Abbotsford Road District shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by the Kaikorai Valley Road; on the south and west by the Main South Road; on the east by section 75, Lower Kaikorai, thence by a line through sections 63, 41, 40, 34, 24, and 22, block VI, Dunedin and East Taieri District.
Mossgiel Road District shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, block XIII, sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, block V, and 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 19, block VI, Taieri Survey District; on the west by section 1, block VII, and section 7, block III, Taieri Survey District.
