ABSTRACT FROM ADVERTISEMENT SHEETS—

28th December, Thursday (noon), sale of Jetty Dues by Auction, at Dunedin.

2nd January, Tuesday (noon), Tenders due for erecting a Store, &c., at Gaol, Dunedin.

4th January, Thursday (noon), Tenders due for erecting a Court House at Dunstan Creek.

8th January, Monday (7 p.m.), Meetings will be held throughout the Province, to elect new School Committees.

11th January, Thursday (noon), Tenders due for the purchase of Section 2, Block XIV, Clutha.

12th January, Friday (noon), two Cows, two Calves, one Steer, and a Horse, to be sold at Oamaru Pound.

31st January (Wednesday), last day for the lodging objections to the closing of Roads in the Puerua District.

7th February (Wednesday), last day for lodging objections to the closing of Roads in the Caversham and Mornington Road Districts.

10th June (1866), the last day for claiming the Bonus of £500 for the manufacture of Paper from Flax.

£500 Reward will be paid, on conviction of the persons who set fire to Stacks in Taieri District.

The Sale of Jetty Dues has been postponed until THURSDAY, 28th DECEMBER curt.

Sale at noon of Thursday, 28th December, 1865, at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works, Dunedin, as provided by the "Jetties and Wharves Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1864."

THE TOLLS, DUES, WHARFAGES, &c., for the year 1866, of the above-mentioned Jetties will be let by public auction to the highest bidder, on his depositing one month's rent at the time and place above-mentioned, and on his finding sufficient sureties for the payment of the money or rent monthly in advance during the lease, and for the due fulfillment of the other conditions.

For Conditions see Advertisement Sheets of 20th November last, 6th December curt., and as under :—

NOTICE to intending Lessees of the Dunedin Jetties, &c., for 1866. The following Scale of Jetty Dues on Goods, &c., has been fixed for the year 1866, instead of those formerly advertised :—

IMPORTS—Flour, Salt, Potatoes, Grain, Hay, Coal, Bricks, Lime, Wooden Posts and Rails, and Sawn Timber, 8d. per ton of 20 cwt; Stone, 8d. per ton measurement; Firewood, 1s. 3d. per cord; Horses, 1s. 3d. each; Cattle, 1s. each; Sheep, 2d. each; Pigs, 3d. each. All other goods at the rate of 1s. 4d. per ton of 20 cwt., or 40 cubic feet. When goods are chargeable by the cwt. or cubic feet, the Lessee shall have the option of charging them either way.

EXPORTS—Wool, 6d. per bale. All other goods, &c., free.

The Jetty Dues must be paid by the Master or Owner of the vessel bringing or taking away Goods, &c., before the same are landed or shipped, as the case may be.

The Weighbridge will be put by lease separately, and the Lessee shall be taken bound to clean and keep the same clean as often as he may be required, by and to the satisfaction of the Inspector.

The Dues of the Chalmers Jetty will not be sold until further notice.

The sale of the Dunedin Jetty Dues will take place at noon of Thursday, 28th December, at the Government Offices.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Public Works, until noon of Monday, the 8th January, 1866, for Contract, No. 153. Cutting Drain on Taieri Plain from Sea Canal to Waipori Lake. Plans and Specifications may be seen, and Forms of Tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin. Tenders to be indorsed "Roads and Works, Tender for Contract No. 153. The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any Tender.
