NOTICE.
Province of New Zealand to Wit.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that John Lorn, of Alexandra, Manuherikia District, in the Province of Otago, has submitted for my examination his Diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons, London, and the College of Physicians, Edinburgh, in accordance with the provisions of an Ordinance passed by the Legislative Council of New Munster, Session I, No. 2, of 1849, intituled “An Ordinance to define the qualifications, and to provide for the remuneration in certain cases of medical practitioners.”
Dated at the Resident Magistrate’s Court, Alexandra, Manuherikia, this sixth day of October, 1864.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that John Rutheford Ryley, of Queenstown, Wakatipu, in the Province of Otago, New Zealand, has this day submitted for my examination his Diploma as a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, Scotland, in accordance with the provisions of an Ordinance passed by the Legislative Council of New Munster, Session I, No. 2, of 1849, intituled “An Ordinance to define the qualifications and to provide for the remuneration in certain cases of Medical Practitioners.”
Dated at the Resident Magistrate’s Court, at Queenstown, this twelfth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.

PUBLIC AUCTION OF CROWN LANDS, not confined to the applicants for the land, but open to all bidders, under the Otago Waste Lands Acts, Nos. 1 and 2, 1863,* will be held at the Waste Lands Office, upon the days undermentioned:—

3rd November (Thursday), at 12 o’clock noon,
Waikouaiti, Block 2, about 3541 acres.
4th November (Friday), at 12 o’clock noon,
Otepopo, Block 7, about 5000 acres.

NOTICE.—Whereas an Application for Crown Grants for Section 47, Port Chalmers; Section 21, North East Valley District (claimed by David Calder, and leased by him to Andrew Simpson); and Section 1, Block VIII, East Taieri District (now in possession of James Aitken), has been made under the “New Zealand Company’s Land Claimant’s Ordinance,” by Charles Murray Duff, of Nungun Bankum, Presidency of Madras, East Indies, Doctor of Medicine, and which application has been referred to me by His Excellency the Governor for investigation: Notice is hereby given that I have appointed Tuesday, the 8th day of November, at 12 o’clock noon, for the purpose of hearing and deciding the claim of the said Charles Murray Duff, when all persons claiming any interest in the aforesaid sections are requested to attend and state their objections, if any, to the claim of the said Charles Murray Duff being granted.

TENDERS for Mail Steam Service between Otago and Melbourne.—Tenders will be received up to 1st December proximo, for the performance for six months from the 11th January, 1865, of the Mail Steam Service between Otago and Melbourne, at present performed by the Aldinga and Alhambra.
The conditions of contract, with the exception of the duration and notice of termination, will be the same as those of the existing contract published in the New Zealand Government Gazette of 12th March, 1864.
Tenders endorsed “Tenders for Otago and Melbourne Mail Steam Service,” to be addressed to the Postmaster-General of New Zealand, in duplicate, and forwarded, one copy to Dunedin and the other to Auckland.

OTAGO FIRE AND MARINE INSURANCE COMPANY REGULATION BILL.
NOTICE is hereby given that application is intended to be made to the General Assembly, at the next Session thereof, for an Act to enable the Shareholders in the Otago Fire and Marine Insurance Company, to sue and be sued in the name of the Chairman, for the time being, of the Board of Directors for the said Company, and to limit the liability of the Shareholders in the said Company, and for other purposes.
And notice is further given that copies of the proposed Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office, within fourteen days from the commencement of the Session.

OTAGO AND SOUTHLAND INVESTMENT COMPANY, LIMITED.
NOTICE is hereby given that application is intended to be made to the General Assembly of New Zealand, at the next session thereof, for leave to bring in a Bill to incorporate the Shareholders of a certain company, called the Otago and Southland Investment Company, Limited, with perpetual succession and a common seal, and to enable the said Company to sue and be sued in their said corporate name, and to limit the liability of the said shareholders, and for other purposes.
And notice is hereby further given that copies of the said Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office, within fourteen days from the commencement of the Session.

BANK OF OTAGO (LIMITED) ACT, 1863, AMENDMENT.
NOTICE is hereby given that application is intended to be made to the General Assembly, at the next Session thereof, for an Act to amend the “Bank of Otago (Limited) Act, 1863,” by repealing the Sections thereof which relate to the liability of the Shareholders in the Bank of Otago, and by assimilating such liability to the liability of Shareholders in a Banking Company, authorised to issue notes, and registered.
