present Majesty, called the "Companies Act, 1862,"
and to render the said Company liable to unlimited
liability in respect to the issue of notes by the said
Company, in New Zealand, and further to amend the
first-named Act.
And notice is further given that printed copies of
the proposed Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill
Office, within fourteen days after the commencement
of the Session.

NOTICE TO CREDITORS.
BY DEED dated the 19th day of October one thou-
sand eight hundred and sixty-four ANDREW
HALDANE of Waikavai in the Province of Otago
Sawyer and Steam Saw Mill proprietor assigned unto
John Bell Mudie of Dunedin Merchant and Walter
Bell of Dunedin Timber Merchant all and singular
the personal estate and effects whatsoever and where-
soever whether in possession or in action of the said
Andrew Haldane and all his right title and interest
therein or thereto upon trust to sell call in and con-
vert the same into money and after paying expenses
to pay so far as the residue of the trust monies would
extend all the creditors of the said Andrew Haldane
who had in writing assented to or approved of or who
should thereafter in writing assent to or approve of or
who should otherwise be bound by the said Deed the
several debts or sums of money then due or owing by
the said Andrew Haldane to such creditors respec-
tively rateably according to the amount of their
respective debts and without any preference or priority
and to pay the ultimate surplus (if any) unto the said
Andrew Haldane: And the said Andrew Haldane by
the said Deed covenanted to convey and assign all his
real estate and chattels real (if any) to the said John
Bell Mudie and Walter Bell upon and for the same
trusts.
The creditors are hereby requested forthwith to
signify their assent to or approval of the Deed by
notice in writing addressed to the trustees either to
their places of business or at our office where the
Deed can be inspected.
The Deed contains a provision that creditors
holding securities are not to be prejudiced by assenting
to or approving thereof.
Dated this twenty-eighth day of October, one
thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.

DUNEDIN WATERWORKS.
NOTICE is hereby given that application is intended
to be made to the General Assembly, at the
ensuing Session thereof, for leave to bring in a "Bill
"to enable the Dunedin Waterworks Company,
"Limited, to make and maintain Waterworks for the
"supply of the Town and Neighbourhood of Dunedin
"with water and for other purposes," and that such
works will commence at or near the Stream called or
known by the name of the Water of Leith, and will
pass or be made in, through, or over the intervening
lands into the Town of Dunedin, all in the Province
of Otago; and that the objects of the said undertaking
are to furnish a constant supply of Water to the said
Town of Dunedin and its neighbourhood, for domestic,
manufacturing, and other purposes, and to the Shipping
in the Harbor of Dunedin; and to empower the said
Company to open and place pipes and shafts in Streets
and Public Highways and places, and to make and
maintain all necessary reservoirs, cisterns, tanks, aque-
ducts, drains, cuts, sluices, culverts, engines, and other
works, and lay and maintain pipes, sink wells and shafts
and erect such buildings as may be necessary, and to
divert, impound, and take water from the aforesaid
Stream, and other Streams thereto affluent or near:
And power will be applied for in the said Bill, to enable
the said Company to purchase compulsorily, Lands
and Houses, and to sell or lease the undertaking, and
to levy tolls, rates, and duties, and to alter existing
tolls, rates, and duties, and to confer, vary, and extin-
guish exemptions from payment of tolls, rates, and
duties, and to confer, vary, and extinguish other rights
and privileges, and in the said Bill will be Incor-
porated "The Land Clauses Consolidation Act, 1863."
And notice is further given, that copies of the said
Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office,
within fourteen days after the commencement of the
said Session, and that copies of the Plans, Sections,
and Books of Reference of the said Undertaking, and
of this notice, will be deposited for public inspection at
the office of the Registrar of Deeds in Dunedin on as
early a day as practicable, and at the office of the Colo-
nial Secretary, and in the Private Bill Office, on or be-
fore the commencement of the said Session.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hereto-
fore subsisting between the undersigned as
Merchants, at Waikouaiti, under the style and firm of
LAWSON & Co., has been this day dissolved by mutual
consent, Mr. Robert Arthur Lawson retiring from said
firm.
The business will in future be carried on by Mr.
John Lawson on his own account, under the style of
Lawson and Co., as heretofore. The said John Lawson
is authorized to receive all debts due to and will dis-
charge all liabilities due by the late firm.
