road forming the south-western boundary of block numbered VII, Otago Peninsula Survey District ; and towards the west by that road line.
THE HIGHCLIFF ROAD DISTRICT shall comprise all that area bounded towards the north by the Portobello road line ; towards the east by Sandy Mount Road District ; towards the south by the Ocean ; and towards the west by the Tomahawk Road District.
THE SANDY MOUNT ROAD DISTRICT shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by Colinswood, Broad Bay, and Portobello Road Districts ; on the east by Hooper’s Inlet and the Ocean ; on the south by the Ocean to the boundary line between sections numbered respectively 51 and 52, block III, Otago Peninsula Survey District ; and on the west by the said boundary line and its continuation in the same direction to the Colinswood Road District.
THE BROAD BAY ROAD DISTRICT shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by Otago Harbor ; on the east by the Portebello Road District ; on the south by block numbered 3, Otago Peninsula Survey District to the eastern corner of section numbered 59, block II, of the said Survey District, and on the south-west by a line skirting the north-eastern boundaries of sections numbered respectively 59, 71, 72 and 73, continued in a westerly direction to Otago Harbor.

NEW ZEALAND INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION, 1865.
WHEREAS by Letters Patent under the hand of his Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, and the seal of the Colony, a Commission has been appointed for the purpose of devising and carrying out an Exhibition of Agricultural and Industrial Products, and Manufactures of the Colony of New Zealand, and such products and manufactures of other countries as may be calculated to be useful in the development of the said Colony. And whereas by the aforesaid Letters Patent, authority is given to the Superintendents respectively of the Provinces of the said Colony to appoint in the several Provinces Local Committees, for the purpose of encouraging the production of articles to be exhibited, of transmitting them to Dunedin, and of conducting communication between Exhibitors and the Commissioners. And whereas I, JOHN HYDE HARRIS, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, did on the 16th day of December last, and also on the 29th day of March last, appoint certain persons to act as such Local Committee for the Province of Otago. And whereas it is expedient that certain other persons hereinafter mentioned should be added to such Local Committee, to act in conjunction with the persons so appointed as aforesaid ;—Now therefore I, in exercise of the powers vested in me in this behalf, do appoint the gentlemen hereinafter mentioned to form part of the said Local Committee :—

THE following Regulations, referring to the transmission of Gold, Bank-notes, or Specie, by Escort to and from Dunedin, to take effect from the 5th October next, are published for general information :—

Gold, Bank-notes, or Specie, for transmission by Escort to Dunedin, must be deposited with the Gold Receiver of the district ; and notes or specie for transmission up-country, at the office of the Chief Gold Receiver, Dunedin.

The Gold Receiver will enter on the receipt, which he will give to the depositor, and on the butt of it (which he will retain) the gross weight of the parcel to be transmitted ; he will also require the signature of the depositor to the butt of the receipt.

When gold is transmitted “for delivery,” the Gold Receiver’s receipt should be sent, in all cases, to the consignee.

Immediately after the dispatch of each Escort for Dunedin, the Gold Receivers will send to the office of the Chief Gold Receiver an invoice of parcels transmitted. This document must contain a precise transcript of the particulars inserted in the “receipts” having reference to that Escort.

No delivery of any kind will be made without the surrender of the Gold Receiver’s “receipt.”

A uniform charge of threepence per ounce will be made for gold forwarded to Dunedin under these arrangements; and for specie and bank-notes conveyed in any direction, or for any distance, a charge of one-half per cent will be made.

The packages of gold will be delivered at the office of the Chief Gold Receiver to the agents or parties authorised to receive them; and notes or specie for transmission up-Country, will be received there the day previous to the leaving of the Escort, up to four o’clock p.m.

The owner of Gold, Bank-Notes, or Specie, transmitted by the Escort, must undertake all risks of conveyance whatsoever (including robbery and theft), as the Government will not, under any circumstances, be responsible for loss.
