HAWKSBURY BUSH ROAD DISTRICT FORMED.
PROCLAMATION
By the Honourable John Hyde Harris, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago intituled the “Roads Ordinance Amendment Ordinance 1862” it is among other things enacted in the 12th Section thereof that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the General Road Board from time to time by Proclamation in the Government Gazette to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such Districts and to increase the number of Districts by forming and naming new Districts, or by dividing any District into two or more Districts: And whereas it is expedient to form into a new Road District the portion of the said province hereinafter mentioned and described:— Now therefore I, the said Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that there shall be henceforth within the Province of Otago, a New Road District, to be named and known as the Hawksbury Bush Road District, and that the said Hawksbury Bush Road District shall comprise all that area being block numbered five (V), Hawksbury Survey District; bounded on the north by Crown Lands and block three (III), Hawksbury Survey District; on the east by block four (IV), Hawksbury Survey District; on the south-east by block six (VI), Hawksbury Survey District; on the south by the Waikouaiti River; and on the west by Crown Lands.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this thirteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.

NOTICE.—NORTH TAIERI ROAD DEVIATIONS.
Whereas it is intended to stop up those Roads and Portions of Roads situate and being in the North Taieri District, and which are hereinafter described, and are delineated on the map or plan mentioned and referred to in the “Taieri Districts Road Lands Ordinance, 1864,” copies of which map or plan are deposited at the Public School and Post Office in the said district:— Now therefore I, John Hyde Harris, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf by the “Taieri Districts Road Lands Ordinance, 1864,” do hereby give notice that all persons objecting to the stopping up of such Roads, or Portions of Roads, or any of them, are required to set forth a statement in writing of any well-grounded objections they may have to the stopping up of such Roads or Portions of Roads, and to leave the same addressed to me, at my office in Dunedin, within sixty days from the date hereof, otherwise such objections will not be considered by me.
Description of the Roads and Portions of Roads in the North Taieri District which the Superintendent is empowered to stop up.
6 chains, 25 links in length, 60 links wide, from Boundary Line between sections 25 and 26, irregular block, Taieri to New District Road, block II, Taieri; bounded on the north by parts of section 5, block II; south by section 26, irregular block, Taieri.
13 chains, 50 links in length, 60 links wide, from New District Road on section 4, block VI, Taieri, to New District Road section 3, block VI, Taieri; bounded on the north by parts of sections 3 and 4, block VI; south by parts of sections 9 and 10, block II, Taieri.
50 chains in length, 60 links wide, from Southern Trunk Road to River side Reserve; bounded on the north by sections 17 and 19; south by sections 15, 16, and 17, Taieri River.

340 chains 80 links in length, 60 links wide, from District Road Line between block XV and section 52, irregular block, Taieri, to Dunedin and West Taieri Road, on section 13, block XVIII, Taieri; bounded on the north by part of section 60, irregular block, Taieri, application 109½, sections 29 and 30, block I, Dunedin and East Taieri, sections 59, 58, 57, 56, 55, 54, 53, irregular block, Taieri, and section 34, block II, Dunedin and East Taieri; south by part of sections 13, sections 12, 11, 10, and 9, block XVIII, blocks XVII, XVI, and XV, Taieri.
34 chains in length, 60 links wide, from District Road at north-east angle of section 16, block XVIII, Taieri to Dunedin and West Taieri Road; bounded on the north-west by section 62, irregular block; south-east by sections 46 and 47, river side, Taieri.
22 chains in length, 60 links wide, from Dunedin and West Taieri Road to River Bank Reserve, West Taieri Bridge; bounded on the north-east by section 62, irregular block, Taieri; south-west by section 49, and part of 48, river section, Taieri.
