TO THE INHABITANTS OF LAWRENCE.
A PUBLIC MEETING of the owners and occupiers of Land, and Householders of Lawrence and vicinity, will be held within the Schoolhouse, Lawrence, on Tuesday, the 19th day of July, 1864, at half-past six o’clock, p.m., for the purpose of constituting the said locality of Lawrence and vicinity into an Educational District under the Education Ordinance, 1864, and for the election of a School Committee for the proposed Educational District which is intended to comprise the township of Lawrence, the Valley of the Tuapeka, Weatherstone’s and Munro’s Gullies, and places adjacent.

Of the Establishment of a Public Pound in the Clutha District.

NOTICE is hereby given that by virtue of the powers vested in me by the “Impounding Ordinance, 1862,” I have established a Public Pound in the Clutha District, in the Province of Otago, being the Stockyard situate on Section numbered 4, of Block XXXV, in the said district, and that I have appointed
William Bartlett,
of Clutha District, aforesaid, settler, to be Keeper of the said Pound.

NOTICE.
Withdrawal of Application for Gold Mining Lease at Weatherstone’s Flat.
NOTICE is hereby given that John Mouat & Co have withdrawn their Application, dated 10th March, 1863, for a Gold Mining Lease of the piece of ground described in the said Application, containing about two acres three roods twenty-four perches, and being situate at Weatherstone’s Flat within the Tuapeka Gold Field. And it is further notified that the said ground is open to persons holding Miner’s Rights, or Business Licences, or to Applicants for a Lease thereof, as if no such Lease for such ground had ever been applied for.

NOTICE.
WHEREAS, it is intended to stop up those Roads and Portions of Roads situate and being in the Hawksbury Hundred and which are hereinafter described, and are delineated in the map or plan mentioned and referred to in the “Hawksbury Roads Lands Ordinance, 1864,” copies of which map or plan are deposited at the Police Station, Public School, and Post Office, in the said Hundred, Now, therefore, I, John Hyde Harris, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf by the “Hawksbury Roads Lands Ordinance, 1864,” do hereby give notice that all persons objecting to the stopping up of such roads, or portions of roads, or any of them, are required to set forth a statement in writing of any well-grounded objection they may have to the stopping up of such roads or portions of roads, and to leave such statement addressed to me at my office in Dunedin, or at the Police Office, within the said Hawksbury Hundred, within sixty days from the date hereof, otherwise such objections will not be considered by me.
Description of Roads and Portions of Roads proposed to be stopped up, viz.:

43 chains 50 links in length, 1 chain wide, from the Northern Trunk Road at Waikouaiti Bridge to the Northern Trunk Road; bounded on the north-west by land the property of John Jones, Esq., on the south-east by Application 246.

2 chains 50 links in length, 1 chain wide; from Northern Trunk to old North Road; bounded on the south-west by the property of John Jones, Esq., south-east by Application 246.

6 chains 10 links in length, 1 chain wide; from old North Road to Northern Trunk; bounded on both sides by the property of John Jones, Esq.

33 chains in length, 1 chain wide; from Northern Trunk to Old North Road; bounded on both sides by the property of John Jones, Esq.

8 chains in length, 1 chain wide; from Waikouaiti River to Mill Track; bounded on both sides by the property of John Jones, Esq.

54 chains in length, 1 chain wide; from Waikouaiti River to south-east angle of old purchase of Mr. John Jones adjoining section 1, block V. Hawksbury; bounded by parts of sections 1, 2, and 3, block V. Hawksbury.
