NOTIFICATION
Of the Exemption of the Township of Lawrence from Mining Operations.

Now, therefore, I, John Larkins Cheese Richardson, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue of the powers delegated to and vested in me in that behalf by the Governor in Council, do hereby proclaim and declare that the ground occupied by the Township of Lawrence, Tuapeks Gold Field, as described in the Schedule hereto, is and shall be exempted from the operations of mining, and from other occupation by all persons whomsoever, claiming in virtue of any provisions of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land known as the Town of Lawrence, situate in the south-eastern Districts of the Province of Otago, containing by admeasurement six hundred and six Acres, more or less, bounded towards the north by Crown Lands seven thousand four hundred and thirty-one links, towards the east by Crown Lands six thousand nine hundred and thirteen links, towards the south by Crown Lands five thousand nine hundred and forty-five links, also five hundred links, towards the south-west by Crown Lands four thousand links, also two thousand links, and towards the north-west by Crown Lands five hundred links, also three thousand six hundred and seventy links, and intersected by the Tuapeka and Wetherstones Creeks.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, the nineteenth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.

Of the Appointment of South Dunedin Poundkeeper.

NOTICE is hereby given, that by virtue of the powers vested in me by the “Impounding Ordinance, 1862,” I have appointed

JOHN BARR,
of Dunedin, Settler, to be Poundkeeper of South Dunedin Public Pound, situate at Little Paisley, in or near to the Town of Dunedin.
