hundred and fifty-nine.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor William Cargill,
Esquire, Superintendent of the
Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed
by the Superintendent of the said
Province, by and with the advice and con-
sent of the Provincial Council thereof, in-
tituled the "Pastoral Districts Ordinance,
1859," it is enacted that "it shall be lawful
for the Superintendent from time to time,
by proclamation in the "Provincial Gov-
ernment Gazette," to constitute Districts
within the Province, which shall be called
Pastoral Districts;

Now therefore I, the said Superin-
tendent, do hereby Proclaim and Declare
that for the purposes of the said Ordinance
the said Province shall be divided into
seven Districts, designated and bounded as
follows:—

OAMARU PASTORAL DISTRICT.

North by the Waitaki.
East by the Ocean.
South by the Kakanui River.
West by the Kakanui, Karau, Hawkdun,
and Dunstan Mountains.

MOERAKI PASTORAL DISTRICT.

North by Oamaru Pastoral District.
East by the Ocean.
South and West by the Horse Range and
Kakanui Mountains.

WAIKOUAITI PASTORAL DISTRICT.

North by Hawkdun, Karau, and Kakanui
Mountains and Horse Ranges.
East by the Ocean.
South by an east and west line drawn from
Blueskin Hill to the Taieri River, by the
Taieri River, Sutton’s Stream, Lammer-
moor, and Knobby Ranges.
West by the Clutha River and Dunstan
Mountains.

DUNEDIN PASTORAL DISTRICT.

North by Waikouaiti Pastoral District.
East by the Ocean.
South by Clutha River.
West by Clutha River.

CLUTHA PASTORAL DISTRICT.

North by Dunedin Pastoral District.
East by the Ocean.
South by the Ocean.
West by Chaseland’s Mistake, Bleak Hill,
Catlin’s Cairns Land Slip, Wendon and Um-
brella Ranges.

INVERCARGILL PASTORAL DISTRICT.

North by Eyre, Double Cone, Rocky, and
Umbrella Mountains.
East by Clutha Pastoral District.
South by the Ocean.
West by New or Oreti River.

RIVERTON PASTORAL DISTRICT.

North by Western Snowy Mountains.
East by Invercargill Pastoral District.
South by the Ocean.
West by the Waiau River.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor William Cargill,
Esquire, Superintendent of the
Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed
by the Superintendent and Provin-
cail Council of the Province of Otago, in-
tituled the "Roads Ordinance, 1856," it
is among other things enacted, section 2,
that it shall be lawful for the Superinten-
dent with the advice and consent of the
General Board of Road Trustees, from
time to time, by proclamation in the Go-
vernment Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish,
or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of
the Districts named in the Schedule to the
said Ordinance, and to increase the num-
ber of Districts by forming and naming
new Districts: And whereas the boundaries
of District No. 6 of said Schedule was
altered and a new District formed, called
the Saddle Hill District, by proclamation
dated the twenty-fifth day of January
last; and whereas it is necessary again to alter
the boundaries of said District No. 6, and
also to alter the boundaries of the Saddle
Hill District aforesaid, and to form new
Districts, named and bounded as aftermen-
tioned;

Now, therefore I, the said Superinten-
dent, with the advice and consent of the
General Board of Road Trustees, do here-
by Proclaim and Declare that the bound-
aries of the said East Taieri District and
Saddle Hill District shall henceforth be as
hereinafter set forth; and that there shall be
a new District, to be named Moeraki Bush
District, and to be bounded as aftermen-
tioned:—

EAST TAIERI DISTRICT.

This District comprises that tract of
country bounded to the North by the
boundary of the Otago Block; to the East
by a straight line running from thence
through the Trigonometrical Station on
Flagstaff or Waikar Hill to the south-
western extremity of section No. 66, Wai-
kari District, also by Green Island Bush
and Waikari Districts; to the South by
the Main Road and Scroggs’ Village Re-
serve; to the West by the Taieri River.
