SADDLE HILL DISTRICT.

This District comprises that tract of country bounded to the North by the Main Road; to the East by Abbot’s Creek and Kaikorai Stream; South by the Ocean and Otakia Stream to its first branch, and West by a straight line running from thence to the west boundary of Scrogg’s Village Reserve.

MOERAKI BUSH DISTRICT.

This District comprises that tract of country bounded to the North by Saddle Hill District; to the East by the Ocean; to the South by the Taieri Native Reserve; and to the West by the Taieri River.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the

(L.S.) Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty-first day of November, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-nine.

NOTICE.

LOWER TAIERI FERRY.

By virtue of the powers in me vested by the “Ferries Ordinance, 1856,” I, the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby give notice that on and after the 1st day of December 1859, the authorised Fares chargeable at the Lower Taieri Ferry for Persons, animals, Carriages, and Goods conveyed across the same, shall be as undernominated, viz., from sunrise till one hour after sunset:—

Horse, Mule, or Ass, except as aftermentioned 1 0
Head of Great Cattle 0 6
Sheep, Goat, or Hog, when under 20 0 2
Sheep, Goat, or Hog, when 20 and upwards 0 1
Carriage 2 6
Cart or Dray (besides 6d. for each Bullock) 1 0
Cart, and one or two Horses 2 0
Cart and three Horses 2 6
Bale of Wool 0 6
Other Goods at the rate of 2d. per 100 lbs.

From one hour after sunset till sunrise the above Fares and Freights, and one-half more, shall be charged. Further, I hereby give notice that the Mail, and persons exhibiting a certificate under the hand of the Superintendent that they are on duty under the employment of the Government, are exempt from the payment of said Fares and Freights.

DUNEDIN TOWN BOARD.

ELECTION OF SIX PERSONS MEMBERS OF THE TOWN BOARD.

In pursuance of the Dunedin Town Board Ordinance, Session II., No. 23 A, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby appoint the Electors entitled to vote for Members for the Town of Dunedin in the Provincial Council of Otago, to assemble upon Monday, the Twelfth day of December 1859, at Twelve o’clock noon, within the Hall situated in Princes Street, Dunedin, known by the name of the Mechanics’ Institution, for the purpose of Electing Six Persons to be Members of the said Town Board, viz., Five Persons in room of

Dr. William Purdie
Messrs. George Smith
George Duncan
James Kilgour
William John Dyer,

who go out of office on the first Wednesday of December 1859, and One Person in room of William Lambert, Esq., who has resigned his seat as a Member of the said Board.

And further, in pursuance of the said Ordinance, I hereby appoint John Gillies, Esquire, of Dunedin, Returning Officer, to preside at said Meeting, and in the event of a Poll being demanded, I hereby appoint the Polling to take place in the Office, occupied by the said John Gillies in Dunedin, on Tuesday, the Thirteenth day of December 1859.
