Notice of Exemption from Maritime Rules: 40C.52, Appendix 3, 3.2; 42.28(2)(b)

Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting, on 22 December 2016, of the following exemptions:

  • 1 from Maritime Rule 40C.52, Appendix 3, 3.2 – Non-passenger ships that are not SOLAS ships – Life-saving appliances – Offshore limit ships and coastal limit ships – Requirements from items (1) and (6) under survival craft (comprising of lifeboats, rescue boats and life rafts)

  • 1 from Maritime Rule 42A.28(2)(b) – Safety Equipment – Life-saving Appliances – Performance, Maintenance and Servicing – Launching and embarkation appliances – Vessels operating under a Safe Ship Management Certificate or a Maritime Transport Operator Certificate launching appliances for a life raft, lifeboat or rescue boat must not depend on any means other than gravity or stored mechanical power

Reappointment to the New Zealand Tourism Board

Pursuant to section 11 of the New Zealand Tourism Board Act 1991 and section 28(1)(a) of the Crown Entities Act 2004, the Minister of Tourism has reappointed

Michael Charles John O’Donnell, of Wellington

as a member of the New Zealand Tourism Board for a three-year term commencing on 16 December 2016 and expiring on 15 December 2019.

Notice of Variation of a Scheduled International Air Service Licence

Pursuant to section 87Q(4) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, section 41(1) of the State Sector Act 1988, and a delegation from the Secretary for Transport dated 28 November 2016, I hereby give notice that Thomas Hamilton Forster, Policy Manager, Aviation and Security, Ministry of Transport, has varied the terms of the Scheduled International Air Service Licence issued to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines to permit the airline to operate code-share services to open destination points in New Zealand.

This variation took effect on 21 December 2016.
