Notice by Mayor of Local Transition Period

Pursuant to section 94B of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, I, Justin Mark Lester, give notice that a local transition period exists in Wellington owing to the sequence of earthquakes which commenced on 14 November 2016.

The transition period comes into force immediately on the date of this notice.

The Recovery Manager for the purposes of the transition period is Michael Anthony MendonΓ§a.

The transition period expires 28 days after the date on which the notice of the transition period is given.

Amendment of Notice of Direction to Appoint Two Limited Statutory Managers for the Opotiki College (148) Board of Trustees

Under section 78M(6) of the Education Act 1989, acting under delegated authority, I hereby amend the notice (as published in the New Zealand Gazette, 7 May 2015, Issue No. 47, Notice No. 2015-go2671) directing the Secretary for Education to appoint two limited statutory managers for the Opotiki College (148) Board of Trustees by vesting the following functions, powers and duties of the board in one limited statutory manager.

The following functions, powers and duties are now vested in one limited statutory manager:

  • All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise); and
  • all functions, powers and duties of the board for financial management (whether statutory or otherwise).

No other functions, powers or duties are vested in the limited statutory manager.

The board will retain its primary duty of care as a person conducting a business or undertaking, under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, above and beyond all functions, powers and duties of this limited statutory manager.

This notice takes effect on the date of publication.
