Notice of the Electricity Industry Participation Code Amendment (Minor Code Amendments) (No 2) 2014

  1. Pursuant to sections 38(3)(b) and 39(3) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010, and having complied with section 39 of that Act, the Electricity Authority gives notice of making the Electricity Industry Participation Code Amendment (Minor Code Amendments) (No 2) 2014 ("Amendment").

  2. The Amendment comes into force on 19 September 2014.

  3. The Amendment corrects errors in the drafting of a previous amendment to the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 ("Code"). The Amendment provides for the issue of invoices by the clearing manager if the clearing manager receives revised information under clause 15.20C, and for reconciliation participants to provide corrected dispatchable load information to the reconciliation manager to resolve a volume information dispute.

  4. A copy of the Amendment and the Code is available on the Electricity Authority’s website:

  5. A copy of the Amendment and the Code may also be inspected free of charge or purchased from the Electricity Authority, Level 7, ASB Bank Tower, 2 Hunter Street, Wellington.

Maritime Security Act 2004

Designation of a Port Security Area

Pursuant to section 45 of the Maritime Security Act 2004, I, Renny VanderVeld, Manager Maritime Security and Incident Response of Maritime New Zealand, acting under delegated authority, hereby designate the following area at North Mole Wharf, Timaru, as a port security area:

  • All that port area within the fenced boundary from Marine Parade, bordered by Unwin Road, along the seaward side of the North Mole Wharf, including the area known as the Shoreline, to the fence line adjacent to No. 3 Wharf, and the fence line to Marine Parade.

This designation comes into force on the day after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Environmental Protection Authority

Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996

Notice of Approval of Code of Practice

Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 ("HSNO Act"), the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) advises that it approved on 31 July 2014 the code of practice HSNOCOP 24 Above Ground Stationary Tanks with Integral Secondary Containment.

The purpose of this code of practice is to provide a means of compliance with the requirements of Schedule 9 clause 3(1)(b) of the Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004 (as amended), for the stationary tanks which have integral secondary containment.

Pursuant to section 80(1) of the HSNO Act, this code can be inspected on request at the Wellington Office of the EPA, Level 10, ANZ Tower, 215 Lambton Quay, Wellington.

Notification of Ordinary Rules

Pursuant to section 161(3) of the Land Transport Act 1998, notification is hereby given of the making of 10 Rules that amend Land Transport Rules.

The amendment Rules, which were consulted on in Land Transport Rule: Omnibus Amendment 2014, are:

  • Land Transport Rule: Tyres and Wheels Amendment 2014 (Rule 32013/7);
  • Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Equipment Amendment 2014 (Rule 32017/6);
  • Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Lighting Amendment 2014 (Rule 32005/9);
  • Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Standards Compliance Amendment 2014 (Rule 35001/13).

These amendment Rules, which make minor changes, come into force on 1 November 2014.
