Electricity Industry (Exemption No. 171 (Network Waitaki Limited)) Exemption Notice 2013

Pursuant to section 11 of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 ("Act"), the Electricity Authority gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Electricity Industry (Exemption No. 171 (Network Waitaki Limited)) Exemption Notice 2013.

(2) This notice comes into force on the day after the date it is notified in the New Zealand Gazette.

2. Exemption—Network Waitaki Limited ("Waitaki") is exempted from compliance with clause 11.10(1)(c) of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 ("Code") in respect of completing its distributor audit no later than 12 months after its preceding audit.

3. Term—This exemption expires at the close of 28 February 2014.

4. Reasons for granting the exemption—The reasons for granting this exemption are:

(a) granting the exemption meets the requirements in section 11(2) of the Act for granting exemptions;

(b) Waitaki will avoid significant compliance costs by conducting its next annual distributor audit at the same time as its initial metering equipment provider audit, and will minimise disruptions to its network staff involved in audit reviews;

(c) once the exemption expires, the timing of Waitaki's next distributor audit will be calculated from the date of the audit completed during the period of this exemption;

(d) there is no risk to settlement or accuracy of records in electricity market systems; and

(e) the exemption will have little or no impact on other participants and service providers, and will not affect any other Code provisions.

Electricity Industry (Exemption No. 172 (Eastland Network Limited)) Exemption Notice 2013

Pursuant to section 11 of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 ("Act"), the Electricity Authority gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Electricity Industry (Exemption No. 172 (Eastland Network Limited)) Exemption Notice 2013.

(2) This notice comes into force on 29 August 2013.

2. Exemption—Eastland Network Limited ("Eastland") is exempted from compliance with clause 1(1)(a) of Schedule 10.5 of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 ("Code") in respect of providing its initial metering equipment provider audit.

3. Term—This exemption expires at the close of 30 June 2014.

4. Reasons for granting the exemption—The reasons for granting this exemption are:

(a) granting the exemption meets the requirements in section 11(2) of the Act for granting exemptions;

(b) Eastland will avoid significant compliance costs by conducting its initial metering equipment provider audit at the same time as its next annual distributor audit and will minimise disruptions to network staff involved in audit reviews;

(c) once the exemption expires, the timing of Eastland's next metering equipment provider audit will be calculated from the date of the audit completed during the period of this exemption;

(d) there are only seven installation control points for which Eastland is the registered metering equipment provider; and

(e) the exemption will have little or no impact on other participants and service providers, and will not affect any other Code provisions.

Pursuant to Regulation 8 of the Electricity Industry (Levy of Industry Participants) Regulations 2010 ("Regulations"), the Electricity Authority ("Authority") gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title—This notice is the Notice of Annual Levy Rates for the Financial Year Ending 30 June 2014.

2. Levy Rates—The Authority has calculated the annual levy rates for the financial year ending 30 June 2014 in accordance with Regulation 7 of the Regulations, as follows:
