Havre Trough

31°25.99'S, 179°47.99'W. A discontinuous trough approximately 112km wide, extending from the foot of the continental slope off the Bay of Plenty, towards the NNE for 1000km. Named in association with the Havre Rocks at the southern end of the Kermadec Islands; they are the nearest land to the midpoint of the depression. Hillary Canyon

73°46.92'S, 173°44.88'W. Ross Dependency. An undersea canyon along the eastern flank of the Iselin Bank, trending SW–NE. Depicted on GEBCO 5.18.

JOIDES Basin

74°30.00'S, 174°00.00'E. Ross Dependency. A north-east trending undersea basin of the central Ross continental shelf. Depicted on SCAR #7200; GEBCO 5.18.

Kermadec Ridge

31°33.59'S, 178°48.41'W. Northern New Zealand. West of the Kermadec Trench extending from 200km off the Bay of Plenty north-eastward for 900 nautical miles. Named in association with the Kermadec Islands. Separated from the Tonga Ridge by a 200m deep saddle at 26°30'S. Kermadec Trench

28°05.71'S, 175°47.41'W. Northern New Zealand. Extending from 90km offshore from Gisborne, at 3600m deep, north-eastward for 1,300km to latitude 26°S. Separated from the Tonga Trench to the north by a 6,000m deep sill. Lau Basin

27°00.00'S, 179°00.00'W. Kermadecs. A shallow area between the Lau Ridge to the west and the Tonga Ridge to the east, which is aligned N–S. Name in association with the Fijian group of Lau Islands. Depicted on Hawkins, 1974; Packham & Terrill, 1975.

Little America Basin

77°30.00'S, 162°00.00'W. Ross Dependency. An undersea basin named in association with the science station Little America. Depicted on SCAR #8526.

Lyall Basin

70°30.00'S, 167°00.00'E. Ross Dependency. Depicted on GEBCO 5.14.

Marie Byrd Canyon

75°00.00'S, 152°50.00'W. Ross Dependency. Depicted on GEBCO 5.18.

Mawson Bank

73°30.00'S, 174°00.00'E. Ross Dependency. Depicted on SCAR #9177; NZ 14065; NZ 14900.

Mernoo Bank

43°20.00'S, 175°15.00'E. Chatham Rise. A bank at the western end of the Chatham Rise between 150km and 200km east of Banks Peninsula. Norfolk Trough

Oates Bank

70°15.00'S, 165°00.00'E. Ross Dependency. A bank named in association with Oates Coast. Depicted on SCAR #10493.

Oates Canyon

68°00.00'S, 164°30.00'E. Ross Dependency. An undersea canyon on the continental rise east of Iselin Bank. Named in association with Oates Coast. Depicted on SCAR #10494.

Osbourn Seamount

25°59.70'S, 174°56.16'W. Kermadec. A guyot-type seamount lying immediately east of the Kermadec Trench. The northernmost of the Louisville Seamount Chain. Depicted on GEBCO 5.10; INT 60.

Pennell Bank

74°30.00'S, 179°59.00'E. Ross Dependency. A large north-east trending bank on the continental shelf in the eastern Ross Sea, extending across Ross Sea from Cape Adare to King Edward VII Land. Depicted on SCAR #11080; NZ 14065; NZ 14900.

Prestrud Bank

77°30.00'S, 159°30.00'W. Ross Dependency. A bank named in association with Prestrud Inlet. Depicted on SCAR #11578; NZ 14065.

Reinga Ridge

33°20.00'S, 170°05.00'E. South of Norfolk Ridge. Trends NW–SW between the southern end of the main Norfolk Ridge (north of Wanganella Bank) and the Maria Ridge off Northland. Extends from 200km to 400km north-west of Cape Reinga. Reserve Bank
