Solander Trough Trough
49°41.21'S, 165°01.31'E. Puysegur shelf. A trough extending about 500m SSW from Solander Island at the western end of Foveaux Strait. Separates the northern end of the Macquarie Ridge from the shelves around Stewart Island, the Snares, and the Auckland Islands. Increases in depth and in width towards the south and merges into the 400m deep Emerald Basin at its southern end. 31°21.70'S, 172°41.90'E. Northern New Zealand. A N–trending ridge on the western side of the South Fiji Basin, with narrow, steep-sided, crestal region bordered by broad western and eastern flanks.
