3. Request to cancel appointment
The Mahia Māori Committee, acting for the tangata whenua who nominated
Moana Kim Whaanga as a Kaitiaki for the area/rohe moana,
has requested in writing the cancellation of his appointment as
a Kaitiaki.
4. Cancellation of appointment
On 4 March 2008, the Associate Minister of Fisheries, under Regulation 10(1) of
the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations
1998, cancelled the appointment of the late Moana Kim
Whaanga as a Kaitiaki for managing mahinga mātaitai within
the area/rohe moana.
5. Nomination of Kaitiaki
The Mahia Māori Committee,
acting for the whānau, hapū and marae of Rongomaiwahine,
has nominated Pera Edwards as an additional Kaitiaki and
Tohu Kereru as a replacement Kaitiaki for managing
mahinga mātaitai within the area/rohe moana.
6. Appointment of Tangata Kaitiaki
On 4 March 2008,
the Associate Minister of Fisheries, under Regulations 9(1)
and 10(2) of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing)
Regulations 1998 respectively, confirmed the appointment
of Pera Edwards and Tohu Kereru as an additional and a
replacement Kaitiaki respectively for managing mahinga
mātaitai within the area/rohe moana.
7. Power to authorise the taking of fisheries resources
for mahinga mātaitai
A Tangata Kaitiaki may authorise
any individual to take fisheries resources managed under the
Fisheries Act 1996, other than those resources that are taken
in fresh water, for mahinga mātaitai purposes from within
the whole or any part of the area/rohe moana. No mahinga
mātaitai of fisheries resources may take place in the area/rohe
moana without an authorisation from a Tangata Kaitiaki.

Notice of Determination of Tax Depreciation Rates

This is a notice made under section 91AAK of the Tax
Administration Act 1994 of a depreciation determination
issued by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue under
section 91AAF of that Act. -
"Determination DEP66: Tax Depreciation Rates
General Determination Number 66" amends
Determination DEP1: Tax Depreciation Rates
General Determination Number 1 in respect of
the "Hotels, Motels, Restaurants, Cafés, Taverns and
Takeaway Bars", "Residential Rental Property Chattels",
and "Telecommunications" industry categories. It was
signed on 4 March 2008, and will appear in Inland
Revenue’s Tax Information Bulletin, Vol. 20, No. 3, of
April 2008. -
A copy of the determination may be obtained by writing
to the Team Manager (Technical Services), Office of
the Chief Tax Counsel, National Office, Inland Revenue,

This is a notice made under section 91AAO(5) of the Tax
Administration Act 1994 of a determination made by the
Commissioner of Inland Revenue under section 91AAO(1)
of that Act. -
"Determination FDR 2008/03 – Use of fair dividend rate
method for a type of attributing interest in a foreign
investment fund (Macquarie Escalator)" was made on
6 March 2008, and will appear in the Inland Revenue
Department’s Tax Information Bulletin, Vol. 20, No. 3 of
April 2008.
