Notice of Application to Register a Trade Name Product (Notice No. 95)

Pursuant to section 14(1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, the Director-General of the New Zealand Food Safety Authority gives notice that the following application has been made to register a trade name product under section 9(1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997:

Trade Name: Bomatak LAC Sheep Oral Mineralised

Active Ingredients and Concentrations:
Each litre contains

  • Levamisole HCI 40g
  • Closantel 50g
  • Albendazole 25g
  • Copper 2.5g
  • Zinc 1.25g
  • Colbalt 2.2g
  • Iodine 0.76g
  • Selenium 0.5g

Formulation Type: Aqueous suspension

General Use Claims:
For the treatment and control of mature and immature gastrointestinal roundworms in sheep, including those with single or dual resistance to benzimidazoles, levamisole or closantel.

It is also effective against lungworm, tapeworm, mature and late immature liver fluke, nasal bot and itch mite.

Bomatak LAC Sheep Oral Mineralised has a persistent activity of up to 42 days against Haemonchus contortus.

Any person may make a written submission to the director-general concerning this application. Under sections 16 and 17 of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, a written submission:

(a) must state in full the reasons for making the submission; and

(b) may state any decision sought on that application; and

(c) must be received by the director-general no later than 30 working days after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

A copy of every submission will be forwarded to the applicant for the applicant’s information.

General Use Claims:
For the prevention of enterotoxaemia (pulpy kidney disease), tetanus, black disease, malignant oedema (black-like disease) and blackleg in sheep and cattle, including swelled head in rams.

For active immunisation of sheep and cattle to Clostridium sordellii, a cause of sudden death syndrome.
