Pursuant to sections 10 and 11 of the Contraception, Sterilisation, and Abortion Act 1977, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Professor Linda Jane Holloway, D.C.N.Z.M., medical practitioner, of Dunedin

as a member and as Chairman of the Abortion Supervisory Committee, and to appoint

Rosemary Jane Fenwicke, medical practitioner, of Wellington, and

Patricia Ann Allan, of Christchurch

as members of the Abortion Supervisory Committee.

Notice Under the Animal Products Act 1999 (Notice No. 1606)

Pursuant to section 167 of the Animal Products Act 1999, notice is given of the issue on 25 June 2007 of the Animal Products (Contaminant Monitoring and Surveillance) Notice 2007, which comes into force on 1 July 2007.

Copies of the notice may be inspected or obtained at the office of the New Zealand Food Safety Authority, South Tower, 68–86 Jervois Quay (PO Box 2835), Wellington.

Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978

Application to Film Marine Mammals

Pursuant to section 5(5) of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, the Minister of Conservation notifies that he received an application from

Peter Thompson

on 20 June 2007 to film marine mammals using aerial gyro stabilised HDTV camera equipment.

This activity has the potential to disturb marine mammals and therefore will require a permit.

A copy of the application can be obtained from the Department of Conservation, Marine Conservation Unit, PO Box 10420, Wellington.

Any person wishing to make a submission on this application can do so by writing to the Manager, Marine Conservation Unit, Department of Conservation, PO Box 10420, within 28 days after publication of this notice.

Unless a person making a submission states to the contrary in the submission, that person will be deemed to give his/her consent to the release of all the information in the submission under the Official Information Act 1982.
