Fisheries (Standards and Specifications) Notice (No 2) 2007 (No. F413)

Pursuant to section 296P of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Standards and Specifications) Notice (No 2) 2007.

(2) This notice shall come into effect on 1 October 2007.

  1. Interpretation—In this notice, terms and expressions defined in the Fisheries Act 1996 have the same meanings as in that Act.

  2. Nature of standards and specifications—(1) I have amended the previous standards and specifications issued under section 296O of the Fisheries Act 1996.

(2) The standards and specifications relate to the performance or exercise of specified functions, duties and powers by an Approved Service Delivery Organisation (ASDO).

(3) The amendment to the standards and specifications allow the ASDO to register ALC Type Approvals, and to issue, register and cancel the registration of ALCs.

  1. Copies of standards and specifications—Full copies of the standards and specifications are available from the Head Office, Ministry of Fisheries, 101–103 The Terrace (PO Box 1020), Wellington.

Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2007 (No. F415)

Pursuant to section 13 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title—This notice is the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2007.

  2. Commencement—This notice comes into force on 30 September 2007.

  3. Application—This notice applies on and from 1 October 2007.

  4. Interpretation—In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires:

(a) the species and quota management system fishstock codes referred to in the Schedule to this notice have the same meaning as in Schedule 3 of the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 2001.

(b) the quota management areas referred to by reference number in the Schedule to this notice are the fishery or quota management areas having the same reference number in either:

(i) the First Schedule to the Fisheries Act 1996; or

(ii) in the case of the dredge oyster stock for quota management area 7C, Schedule 3 of the Fisheries (Declaration of New Stocks Subject to Quota Management System) Notice 2005; or

(iii) in the case of prawn killer stocks for quota management areas 3, 4A, 6A and 6B, Schedule 2 of the Fisheries (Declaration of New Stocks Subject to Quota Management System) Notice 2006; and

(c) where two or more quota management areas are shown as combined in respect of any species of fish, the combined areas together comprise one quota management area for that species.

  1. Total Allowable Catch—The total allowable catch for each quota management stock is that amount stated in the final column of the Schedule to this notice.
