Explanatory Note
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice, which comes into force on 30 September 2007, sets the total allowable catch (TAC) for each quota management stock listed on and from 1 October 2007 as follows:
- The TAC is set for flatfish in area 3 at 1,617 tonnes, for red cod in area 3 at 4,930 tonnes and for school shark in area 1 at 893 tonnes.
- The TAC for white warehou in the newly amalgamated area WWA 5B (previously areas 5 and 6) is set at 2,621 tonnes.
- The TACs are set as listed in the Schedule for all prawn killer stocks, which enter the quota management system on 1 October 2007.
- The TAC for dredge oyster in area 7C is increased from 5 tonnes to 50 tonnes.
- The TAC for hoki in area 1 is decreased from 101,040 tonnes to 91,040 tonnes.
- The TAC for orange roughy in area 1 is decreased from 1,470 tonnes to 914 tonnes.
- The TAC for orange roughy in area 3B is decreased from 12,075 tonnes to 11,025 tonnes.
- The TAC for orange roughy in area 7B is decreased from 110 tonnes to 1 tonne.
- The TAC for oreo in area 1 is decreased from 5,033 tonnes to 2,500 tonnes.
- The TAC for tarakihi in area 1 is increased from 1,959.195 tonnes to 2,029.195 tonnes.
- The TAC for rubyfish in area 8 is decreased from 55 tonnes to 6 tonnes to correct a technical error.
Fisheries (North Island Eels Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2007 (No. F416)
Pursuant to section 14 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries gives the following notice.

Title—This notice is the Fisheries (North Island Eels Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2007.

Commencement—This notice comes into force on 30 September 2007.

Application—This notice applies on and from 1 October 2007.

Interpretation—In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires, references to "species", "quota management area", and "quota management system fishstock code" have the same meanings as in the Fisheries (Declaration of New Stocks Subject to Quota Management System) Notice (No 2) 2003.

Total Allowable Catch—The total allowable catch for each quota management stock is that amount stated in the final column of the Schedule to this notice.
