Authorisation of the Exchange of a Reserve for Other Land

Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations Manager of the Canterbury Conservancy of the Department of Conservation authorises the exchange of the gravel reserve described in the First Schedule for the land described in the Second Schedule.

Classification of Reserve

Under section 16 (2A) of the Reserves Act 1977, the South Wairarapa District Council resolved on 23 November 2006, to classify that part of the parcels of land held in fee simple by the council and described in the First Schedule below as historic reserve, and further, to classify that part of the parcel of land held in fee simple by the council and described in the Second Schedule below as recreation reserve, subject to the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977.

Wellington Land District—South Wairarapa District

First Schedule

That part of Soldiers Memorial Park, Kuratawhiti Street, Greytown contained in Computer Freehold Register WN852/23, being Lots 2 and 3, DP 21041 and that part of Computer Freehold Register WN336/86, being part Section 4, Small Farm Settlement of Greytown, contained within the area defined by a line beginning at the southern-most corner of the lot and extending 150m along the boundary of the lot with Kuratawhiti Street, then bearing 42 degrees for 50m, then bearing 347 degrees for 120m, then bearing 132 degrees for 90m, then bearing 42 degrees for 30m, then bearing 132 degrees for 30m, then bearing 222 degrees for 14m, then bearing 132 degrees for 54m, then extending for 134m along the south-eastern lot boundary back to the starting point at the southern-most corner of the lot. This encloses the area of native bush known as O’Connors Bush.

Second Schedule

That part of Soldiers Memorial Park, Kuratawhiti Street, Greytown, contained in Computer Freehold Register WN336/86, being part Section 4, Small Farm Settlement of Greytown, excluding the area identified as historic reserve in the First Schedule above.

Classification of Reserves

Under section 16 (1) of the Reserves Act 1977, the South Wairarapa District Council resolved on 23 November 2006, that, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by delegation under the Reserves Act 1977, it classifies the reserves described in the First Schedule below as recreation reserves, and the reserve described in the Second Schedule below as historic reserve, subject to the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977.
