"1.41.10a If the banknote acceptor only accepts tickets in a particular
direction, orientation or with a particular side facing up, there must
be sufficient instructions on the ticket or the note acceptor to clearly
indicate this to patrons."

Clause 1.41.11 of this section shall be replaced by:
"1.41.11 Under no circumstances may credits be lost if banknotes or tickets
are input during game play."

The following clause shall be added to this section following clause 1.41.12:
"1.41.12a A gaming machine must not register credits as the result of
ticket input until the ticket has been validated and has passed the
point where it is possible to be rejected by the acceptor or
withdrawn."

Discrimination

Clause 1.41.15 of this section shall be replaced by:
"1.41.15 It must not be possible to successfully disable any validation feature
and thus register any counterfeit banknote as a valid banknote or
counterfeit ticket as a valid ticket. If a photocopy of a ticket is
accepted, each ticket must only be able to be validated once."

The following clause shall be added to this section following clause 1.41.17:
"1.41.17a Only valid tickets in an approved format as specified in Section
1.20.14 will be accepted for use in banknote acceptors. Each ticket
must have a unique bar code or a machine readable code
representing the validation number."

Physical Access

Clause 1.41.19 of this section shall be replaced by:
"1.41.19 Venues are not to have access to the banknote acceptors for any
purpose other than the clearing of banknote or ticket jams or other
approved purposes."

Clause 1.41.25 of this section shall be replaced by:
"1.41.25 The gaming machine, if configured for a banknote acceptor device,
must not activate the Banknote Acceptor if any part of the Banknote
Acceptor is missing that relates to the validation process or delivery
of the banknote or ticket to the storage area."

Gaming Machines with Both Coin and Banknote Acceptors

Sub-clauses c) and d) of clause 1.41.28 shall be replaced by:
"c) cash-in statistics are to detail, or allow the calculation of, separate
figures for coin, banknote and ticket input; and

d) the gaming machine must be able to cater for simultaneous input of
banknotes or tickets and coins."

Configuration Option

The following clause shall be added to this section following clause 1.41.29:
"1.41.30 It is permissible for the gaming machine to have a facility where the
ticket in function via the banknote acceptor (if applicable) can be
disabled/enabled via an action not available to the player. In this
instance, the gaming machine can still be played using coin or note
input."
