NZ5.2 Hardware Requirements (Ref NS 1.42…)

Banknote Input System

  1. Sub-clause c) of clause 1.42.1 shall be replaced by:
    "c) ability to deliver a banknote or ticket to the banknote storage area (eg receptacle)."

  2. Clause 1.42.2 shall be replaced by:
    "1.42.2 The designated path which banknotes and tickets traverse and associated handling devices shall be of solid construction."

  3. Clause 1.42.3 shall be replaced by:
    "1.42.3 The designated path which banknotes and tickets traverse and associated handling devices must be designed so that they resist jams and do not impair travel during insertion, acceptance, depositing or expulsion of banknotes and tickets."

Liquid Spills

  1. Clause 1.42.11 shall be replaced by:
    "1.42.11 If liquids are spilled into a banknote acceptor, the only degradation permitted is for the acceptor to reject all banknotes and tickets. Entering a state where incorrect banknotes/tickets are accepted or correct banknotes/tickets are accepted but not credited to the customer is not acceptable."

NZ5.3 Software Requirements (Ref NS 1.43.)

Banknote Faults and Remedial Actions

  1. The third fault in Table 5-1 (Jams) shall be replaced by the wording "Banknote or ticket jams".

  2. The words "Excessive banknote rejects" in the fifth fault in Table 5-1 (Excessive Rejects) shall be replaced by the words: "Excessive combination of banknote/ticket rejects".

Action When Banknote Faults Occur

  1. Sub-clause b) of clause 1.43.2 shall be replaced by:
    "b) other faults such as banknote acceptor receptacle full need not disable the gaming machine but must disable banknote and ticket input."

Tokenisation

  1. The following paragraph is added to clause 1.43.7:
    "Each valid ticket inserted must register the actual dollar/cents value or a number of credits on the player’s credit meter. If registered directly as credits, the conversion rate must be clearly stated or be easily discernible from the gaming machine. If the ticket has a residual credit value which is not enough to constitute one credit on the gaming machine, this will be displayed on the screen and must be able to be collected from the gaming machine in the form of a printed ticket when play has been completed."

Note Acceptor Disabled on High Credit Balance

  1. Clause 1.43.9 shall be replaced by:
