to be a member of the National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee for a period commencing on the date of publication of this notice and expiring on 31 October 2006.

Appointment of Acting Judge of the High Court

Pursuant to section 11A of the Judicature Act 1908, Her Excellency the Governor-General, in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, has been pleased to appoint

The Honourable Colin Maurice Nicholson

an Acting Judge of the High Court for a term of one year, the Commission to take effect on 21 June 2004, a certificate having been signed by the Chief Justice and the Chief High Court Judge that in their opinion it is necessary for the due conduct of the business of the Court that an Acting Judge be appointed.

Notice of Appointment of a Member to the Tertiary Education Commission

Pursuant to section 159D and clauses 2 (1), 3 and 11 of Schedule 13A of the Education Act 1989 (as inserted by Schedule 1 of the Education (Tertiary Reform) Amendment Act 2002), the Minister responsible for the Tertiary Education Commission gives the following notice.

  1. This notice may be cited as the Tertiary Education Commission (Membership) Notice 2004.
  2. This notice comes into force on the day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
  3. I appoint Professor Graeme Stuart Fraser to the Tertiary Education Commission to replace Dr Ian Smith, who has resigned.
  4. The appointment takes effect from 1 June 2004 and expires on 31 December 2005.

Homai National School for the Blind and Vision Impaired (4156) Board of Trustees Election Invalidation Notice

Pursuant to clauses 9 (3) and (3A) of the Sixth Schedule to the Education Act 1989, I hereby declare invalid the election for parent representatives for the Homai National School for the Blind and Vision Impaired (4156) Board of Trustees held on 11 May 2004, require new elections to be held on 2 July 2004, and declare that the trustees holding office on 11 May 2004 remain in office until the close of the day before the day when the new trustees take office.

This notice takes effect the day after its publication.
