Pursuant to section 71 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1989, The National Bank of New Zealand Limited
has given notice to the Reserve Bank that its name is to be removed from the Register of Registered Banks on the 26th
day of June 2004.

This is intended to coincide with the amalgamation of The National Bank of New Zealand Limited into ANZ
Banking Group (New Zealand) Limited on that date.
