Notice of Guarantee Given Pursuant to Section 59 (1) of the Public Finance Act 1989—Transpower New Zealand Limited

Pursuant to section 59 (2) of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance hereby gives notice that:

“On 23 December 2003, I, The Honourable Dr Michael John Cullen, Minister of Finance, on behalf of the Crown, gave a guarantee to Transpower New Zealand Limited in relation to certain tortious liabilities that could arise from being System Operator under the Electricity Governance Regulations 2003.”

Land Transport Safety Authority

Traffic Regulations 1976

Approval of Flashing or Revolving Green Beacons

Pursuant to Regulation 67 (8) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and under delegated authority, I, John Andrew Justice, Principal Vehicle Engineer Land Transport Safety Authority, hereby approve the fitting of one flashing or revolving green beacon to the vehicles specified in Schedule 1 of this notice, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 2.

Schedule 1

Approved vehicles

Any vehicle operated by a registered nurse employed by the Westland Medical Centre, Hokitika.

Schedule 2

Conditions

  1. The beacon may be used only while the vehicle is on urgent medical service.
  2. This exemption may be revoked at any time.

Maritime Safety Authority of New Zealand

Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996

Declaration Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996

Whereas, pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport did delegate those powers under section 12 (6) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Maritime Safety Authority by an instrument of delegation dated 19 March 1997.

And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Maritime Safety Authority did delegate those powers under section 12 (6) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Director of Maritime Safety by an instrument of delegation dated 26 March 1997.

And whereas, pursuant to section 443 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime Safety did delegate those powers under section 12 (6) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to me by an instrument of delegation dated 26 March 1997.

Therefore I, John Norman Keith Mansell, Group Manager Maritime Operations, Maritime Safety Authority, hereby make the following declaration.

Declaration

The Order in Council under section 12 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 entitled the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Order 1992 shall not apply in respect of the following ship:

Hawere, M.S.A. No. 129739

and the small craft associated with that ship whilst working in the protected area designated “Area 2 – Hauraki Gulf” for a survey of marine life in the cable protection area and with the conditional written approval of Telecom New Zealand Limited, for the period from 1 March 2004 to 31 March 2004.
