Classification of Reserve and Appointing a Voluntary Organisation to Control and Manage

Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations
Manager, Canterbury Conservancy of the Department
of Conservation, classifies the reserve described in the
Schedule as a local purpose (environment and landscape
protection) reserve and appoints Takuahi Research and
Development Limited to control and manage the reserve
as a local purpose (environment and landscape protection)
reserve.

Wild Animal Control Act 1977

Kaweka Recreational Hunting Area

Pursuant to section 27 of the Wild Animal Control Act
1977, the Director-General of Conservation varies the notice
forming the Kaweka Recreational Hunting Area dated the
17th day of January 1986 and published in the New Zealand
Gazette, 23 January 1986, page 220, by allowing commercial
hunting within the recreational hunting area for the period
commencing on and including 1 November 2004 and
expiring on and including 31 October 2007.\n
The Director-General also permits for the same time period
hunting within all of the recreational hunting area by wild
animal recovery hunters under the supervision of the
Department of Conservation.
