Notification of Draft Determination for Telecommunications Service Obligations Instrument

Issue of Draft Determination for TSO Instrument for Local Residential Service for period between 20 December 2001 and 30 June 2002.

On 27 June 2003, the Commerce Commission, pursuant to section 86 (a) of the Telecommunications Act 2001 (“the Act”), prepared a draft determination of the matters set out in section 88 of the Act for the TSO instrument for local residential telephone service, for the period between 20 December 2001 and 30 June 2002.

Pursuant to section 86 (b) of the Act, the Commerce Commission gives public notice of its draft determination.

Pursuant to section 86 (c) of the Act, the Commerce Commission gives public notice that the closing date for submissions on its draft determination is 25 July 2003.

The Traffic (Waimate District) Notice 2003

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962 and Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, Peter Graeme Croft, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice.

Notice

1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Waimate District) Notice 2003.

2. The roads specified in the Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

Schedule

Situated within the Waimate District at Makikihi:

Frederick Street.

Makikihi Beach Road: From State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 100 metres measured easterly, generally, along the said road from the said State highway.

Makikihi Station Road: From State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 240 metres measured easterly, generally, along the said road from the said State highway.

Meehan Place.

State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff): From a point 490 metres measures northerly, generally, along the said State highway from Frederick Street to a point 150 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said State highway from Frederick Street.

Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996

Appointment of Protection Officers Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996

Whereas, pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport did delegate those powers under section 16 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Maritime Safety Authority by an instrument of delegation dated 19 March 1997.

And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Maritime Safety Authority did delegate those powers under section 16 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Director of Maritime Safety by an instrument of delegation dated 26 March 1997.

Therefore I, Russell Paul Kilvington, Director of Maritime Safety, hereby appoint those persons listed in the Schedule to this notice as protection officers for the purposes of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996.

This notice comes into effect on and from 20 June 2003.
