Revocation of the Reservation Over Part of a
Reserve Specifying the Manner of Disposal
and How to Utilise Proceeds of Sale
Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations
Manager for the Auckland Conservancy of the Department of
Conservation revokes the reservation as a recreation reserve
over part of a reserve described in the Schedule and declares
that the land may be disposed of by the Waitakere City
Council at current market value, the proceeds of such sale to
be paid into the council’s reserves account, to be used and
applied in or towards the improvement of other reserves under
the control of the council, or in or towards the purchase of
other land for reserves.

Declaration of Land as a Recreation Reserve
Section 14 of the Reserves Act 1977 allows the Queenstown
Lakes District Council (“the council”) to declare land vested
in it to be a reserve.
Under the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977, the Council
passed a resolution at its meeting of 14 March 2003 to
declare a recreation reserve in respect of the land described
in the Schedule hereto.
Under authority delegated from the Minister of
Conservation, pursuant to section 10 of the Reserves Act
1977, the council hereby declares the piece of land
described in the Schedule, and known as Paddy Burton Park
in Queenstown, recreation reserve land.

Otago Land District—Queenstown Lakes District
All that piece of land, being 1007 square metres, more or
less, and described as Section 4, Block XLI, Town of
Queenstown, contained in certificate of title OT3C/405
(Otago Registry) in the name of Queenstown Lakes District
Council.

Setting Apart Māori Freehold Land as a
Māori Reservation
Pursuant to section 338 (1) of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act
1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court,
the Māori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto is
hereby set apart as a Māori reservation for the purpose of a
marae, to be known as the Kotuku Marae, for the common
use and benefit of the Ngatihine, Ngai Tawake hapu and all
others associated with these hapu.

Redefining the Purposes of a Māori Reservation
Pursuant to section 338 (5) (c) of Te Ture Whenua Māori
Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court,
the purposes of the Māori reservation as set out in the
New Zealand Gazette, 24 September 1992, No. 154, page
3209 and New Zealand Gazette, 18 March 1993, No. 35,
page 716, be redefined for the purpose of a marae site to
be called Ngaitai Manawaiti Ki Mataitai Marae for the
common use and benefit of the Māori people of the district.
