Retail Meat Industry Training Organisation Incorporated
The Board of the Tertiary Education Commission Te Amorangi Mātauranga Matua approved, pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992, full recognition for the Retail Meat Industry Training Organisation Incorporated to set standards at Levels 1 to 8 on the National Qualifications Framework for the retail meat industry for a further period of five years with effect from 30 October 2003.

fire protection systems, locksmithing and gunsmithing industries, architectural aluminum, rail operations industry excluding dairy sites and truck operations, the maritime industry which comprises the operation of vessels, excluding those vessels whose primary purpose is commercial fishing, which through membership either belong to or are entitled to belong to the Royal New Zealand Coastguard Federation, the New Zealand Shipping Federation and the New Zealand Maritime Transport Association, including vessels operated by the Defence Force or owned by the State, or any vessels used on coastal or inland water ways. These vessels are involved in trade, the carriage and transfer of cargo and passengers, search and rescue, salvage, recreational activities, conservation, scientific research, servicing offshore oil and gas facilities, dredging, towing, or are governed by the International Convention on Standards for Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STC&W) and the New Zealand Maritime Transport Act 1994 and its subsequent amendments.

Motor Industry Training Organisation Incorporated

Extractives Industry Training Organisation
The Board of the Tertiary Education Commission Te Amorangi Mātauranga Matua approved, pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992, an extension of coverage for the Extractives Industry Training Organisation to set standards at Levels 1 to 8 on the National Qualifications Framework for the gas distribution, reticulation, sales, repair and maintenance, petrochemical and abrasive blasting industries.
It will set standards on the National Qualifications Framework in the following areas, effective from 1 November 2003:
Gas engineering, pipeline mechanical inspection, gas metering, governor fitting, gas measuring, appliance servicing, mains and service laying, leakage surveying, specialist meter reading, plant/process operations in the exploration/production, hydrocarbon refining and petrochemical processing sectors of the petrochemical industry and petrochemical industry specific skills, geoscientists, engineers (chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical and process), mechanical instrumentation and electrical tradepersons, metering and telemetry technicians, cathodic technicians, abrasive blasting covering; abrasive blasting, blasting coating operations and protective coating industry at Levels 1 to 8 on the National Qualifications Framework with effect from 1 November 2003.

New Zealand Journalists Industry Training Organisation
The Board of the Tertiary Education Commission Te Amorangi Mātauranga Matua approved, pursuant to section 8 of the Industry Training Act 1992, provisional recognition for the New Zealand Journalists Industry Training Organisation to set standards at Levels 1 to 8 on the National Qualifications Framework for the news and feature reporting industry (including print, radio and television) for a period of 12 months with effect from 20 October 2003.
