Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations Manager of the Canterbury Conservancy of the Department of Conservation revokes the reservation as a Government purpose (health and disability sector and related purposes) reserve over the land described in the Schedule, with the effect that the land remains vested in the South Canterbury District Health Board under the provisions of section 11E (6) of the Health Sectors Transfer Act 1993.

Schedule

Canterbury Land District—Waimate District
3.5160 hectares, being Lot 2, D.P. 83395. All certificate of title 47D/868.

Change of Classification of Reserve

Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations Manager for the Southland Conservancy of the Department of Conservation changes the classification of the reserve described in the Schedule from a local purpose reserve (afforestation) to a recreation reserve, subject to the provisions of the Act.

Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993

Redefining the Class of Persons for Whose Use and Benefit a Māori Reservation is Set Apart

Pursuant to section 338 (5) (d) of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the persons for whose use and benefit the land described in the Schedule hereto has been set apart as a Māori reservation by notice in the New Zealand Gazette, 22 December 1949, No. 78, page 2338, is hereby redefined as being for the common use of the Ngati Hini/Ngatikahu sub-tribes as a marae and meeting place.

All that piece of land situated in Block XV, Kawakawa Survey District and Block IV, Motatau Survey District and described as follows:

1a 0r 0p Mohinui 4B, the land contained in the partition order of the Māori Land Court dated 7 July 1948.

Setting Apart Māori Freehold Land as a Māori Reservation

Pursuant to section 338 (1) of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the Māori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart as a Māori reservation for the purpose of education as a kohanga reo, kokiri centre or other educational facility as required for the common use and benefit of Ngati Rahiri-Tumutumu iwi and the inhabitants of Te Aroha and surrounding districts.
