Acting District Court Judge Appointed
Pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947,
Her Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to appoint
Ronald James Gilbert, retired District Court Judge
to be an Acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and
criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand, at such place or places
and for such period or periods only as the Chief District
Court Judge may fix, pursuant to the said section 10A of the
District Courts Act 1947, for a term of one year on and from
24 June 2002.

Acting District Court Judge Appointed
Pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, and
section 7 of the Family Courts Act 1980, Her Excellency the
Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
John Stewart Bisphan, retired District Court Judge
to be an Acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and
criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand, at such place or places
and for such period or periods only as the Chief District
Court Judge may fix, pursuant to the said section 10A of
the District Courts Act 1947, and also to exercise the
jurisdiction of the Family Courts, pursuant to section 7 of
the Family Courts Act 1980, for a term of two years on and
from 19 July 2002.

Notice of Approval of Alternative Constitution
for Te Kura o Awarua
Pursuant to section 105A (1) of the Education Act 1989,
I hereby approve the following alternative constitution for
Te Kura o Awarua.
Membership of the Board
- In accordance with clause two of this notice, the board
of trustees shall be one person appointed by the Minister of
Education, after complying with the procedures set out
below. The new board (hereafter referred to as the appointed
trustee) will take office on a date specified by the Minister
of Education. The Commissioner will go out of office seven
days after that date, in accordance with section 78P (3) of
the Education Act 1989.
Appointment of the Trustee
-
The Minister of Education (acting through an authorised
representative in the Ministry of Education) will call for
nominations for the position of appointed trustee in
accordance with the Education (School Trustee Elections)
Regulations 2000, with modifications as required. -
The Minister of Education will consider the nominations
and consult with the school community (parents/caregivers,
prospective parents and staff) before appointing the trustee. -
Persons identified in sections 103 and 103A of the
Education Act 1989 are ineligible to be appointed.
Term of Office
-
The appointed trustee’s term is three years from the date
of appointment, and any one appointed trustee may serve up
to two consecutive terms. -
In the event of the resignation of the appointed trustee,
the appointed trustee’s term of office shall be filled in the
manner provided for in section 105 (8) of the Education Act -
The Minister of Education may at any time, for just
cause, remove the appointed trustee from office by written
notice to the appointed trustee.
